While Trump held the majority in the House and Senate his first two years, Republicans did not have a super majority in the Senate, and the Democrats continuously used the filibuster on proposed legislation -- there were over 200 cloture motions passed during the first two years. In addition .. Democrats strongly opposed any immigration legislation proposed by Republicans, including the border wall.

I suspect that Republicans will end the filibuster if Democrats attempt to pull the same shenanigans.

That was Congress' fault. Trump built the wall himself. I just saw a top GOP Chairperson in Texas (I think) being interviewed the other night--- he was speaking EXACTLY to that point noting regarding 2018 and beyond that when the GOP were in power, it was such a big deal to them that they all ended up celebrating for two years getting nothing done forgetting that they only had a limited window. He went on that even as we speak, democrats have already moved on and are hard at work planning in how to get their power back and that the GOP need to realize this and keep up the hard work of planning their defense as well as using the time they have to get lots of big things done!

Remember how Trump tried to reform ACA in his first year and how McCain with a brain tumor flew across the country to be the deciding vote to KILL the bill?

Hopefully Trump can light a fire under their ass and with more influence from within by MAGA, can get these people and keep these people more unified and on the ball. Still, the GOP still has their RINOS with the likes of Lisa Murkowski, Mitch McConnell, Susan Collins, and Mitt Romney that it will always be hard to get unity on anything--- why republicans keep reelecting them is beyond me, but one look at the states they are from gives me an idea.

The problem has never been a wall that no one really wants. (Most of that wall will be built on private property, not government property) The wall design he came up with can be easily bypassed with $100 of tools from the Home Depot.

As I have often said, if you want to end illegal immigration then you have to go after the white people who hire them.

That means the sweatshop owner and the farmer.
It means the rich douchebag who can't be bothered to raise his own children, so Lupe is just like a member of the family (which is why he didn't pay her taxes!)
It means the nitwit who found out his DIY Project wasn't as easy as HGTV made it look, and hired some day-laborers to finish it. (Probably at that same Home Depot they are picking up their tools to cut holes in the fence)
