Let's be clear about trump's dual motivations.

Obviously, one is seeking revenge against those who had the audacity to speak out about his crimes/corruption (Schiff), resist it (Comey), or prosecute it (James, Willis).

But is that the only one? From the first impeachment to the more recent indictments brought by Jack Smith Don has tried to make the case, over and over, that........"I did nothing wrong."

It appears he believes if he can assassinate the character the people on his enemies list his claims of being victimized will be vindicated. It's essentially an exercise in revisionist history. More importantly, it's a substitute for his inability to show he was unjustly prosecuted. Because, as always, the facts are not on his side. Leaving smears against his detractors is all he has.

The problem for trump, and his followers, is Adam Schiff's guilt or innocence for mortgage fraud has no bearing on the accuracy of the criticisms directed at trump. Fani Willis's affair with someone in her office does not make trump and his co-conspirators innocent of the charges they faced in GA.

Pursuing Jim Comey for alleged false statements under oath in congressional testimony does not erase trump's corrupt pressure campaign to get Comey to leave Mike Flynn alone.

Accusations that Jack Smith is a "mean nasty guy".......

........do nothing to change the events surrounding the plot trump orchestrated to steal the 2020 election or his refusal to comply with a subpoena for the return of classified docs.

So I implore trump fans not to take your eyes off the ball. He is playing a shell game of distraction. An attempt to get the conversation off inflation he promised to fix, the war in Ukraine he promised to stop, and the Epstein files he refuses to release. And of his guilt for the charges he has faced.

You libs made that weaponized bed. Now live in it.

Yes. But in Comey's case he is being subjected to the justice system, not the same one trump was able to manipulate, without having committed a crime according to everyone in the US Attorney's office of the southern district of VA. With the exception of the unqualified insurance lawyer trump sent there to prosecute the case.

Then he will be found not guilty and allowed to go on his way. He will probably end up suing the US government if found innocent.

Its just hard to find any sympathy when, from thr moment trump announced his campaign in 2015, the dems vowed to impeach him, without any reason for impeachment. For over 10 years now, the left has used the legal system to go after trump. Letitia James campaigned on suing trump before she even had a reason to sue him.

I wish we didnt have to be going down this path, unfortunately, the left has demonstrated that they will use every dirty trick in the book to go after their enemies, and if you just let that stuff go, they'll keep doing it. Kinda like the schoolyard bully. If you let him get away with hitting you, he will keep hitting you. Its not til you sock him in the nose that he will learn a lesson.

It is nearly impossible to prove "unjust prosecution" unless you can prove that the prosecution team literally manufactured evidence, as they did in the case of General Flynn.

Just showing that the prosecutor had ulterior motives in the prosecution doesn't do it, so long as there are enough facts favoring prosecution to at least be plausible. That's why Leticia James is not yet charged with malicious prosecution, nor is Alvin Bragg, even though both ran on a platform of "GET TRUMP!"

It used to be that prosecutors were adament that they not ever display even the appearance of unjust prosecution. That's why political enemies of the prosecutors often got passes. Due to Trump Derangement Syndrome that infected nearly all of the Democratic, and a large chunk of the Republican Party, that principle was turned on its head such that biased prosecution became a bragging point.

Now they cry when it happens to them.

Unsuprising.

Paybacks are a *****

The amazing thing about Trump's criminal record is the average American would be jail, period. But money and power corrupt and Trump's followers are corrupt or in many cases sanction his corruption. Money, unlike honesty, pays off. You all know what Jesus said, 'He without sin....' Trump's followers are corrupt too.

Trump's criminal record?

Proving trump's DoJ engaged in vindictive prosecution at his direction should be easy enough since Dotard has provided so much evidence of it.

Spoken like a true fascist…expecting someone to prove their innocence

You had four years to prove your accusations and failed

now Justice is coming roaring down like thunder

In a normal time, that alone would be enough. But they really are at war. They're going to concede nothing at any scale.

It's a very asymmetrical situation when only one side is at war. It's reminiscent of finding out the day after 9/11 that those people were "at war" with us. Huh? Who? They are? And worse, those people thought we were at war with them, too.

There really isn't much of a template for such a situation.

No, the average American would never be charged. They PERSECUTED Trump BECAUSE he is Trump
Well, let's see. John Bolton's indictment includes charges just like the ones trump was charged with relating to the retention of classified docs. trump refused to comply with a subpoena for the return of said docs which is why his home was searched.

So your assertion is shot to hell.

Yeah but trump wasn’t willful, he falls under the Clifton and xiden defense, but was targeted anyway because he was running against xiden

I think you have to be immersed in the fringe, right wing media bubble to understand the level of hatred and resentment trumples feel. And why they feel it. We got a peek in to what goes on behind closed doors when the conservations between some Young Repubs were published. Racism, homophobia, misogyny, it was all there on display.

Perhaps an even more transparent look in to the minds of Repubs was trump's recent admission he hates his political opponents. Remember when John McCain told that old woman Obama was a good person who wanted the best for America but McCain disagreed with his views? We need another moment like that. Unfortunately, it won't come from trump in a million years.

It's frustrating, exasperating.

I've probably told you that I have general agreements with them on several issues. But the voices they've chosen to trust, communicate with them with a non-stop paranoid hyperbole and showbiz that has just taken them outside of reality. I don't think they recognize that, and instead look at it as "The Truth".

I don't care what the issue is. I don't care whether a person is on the Left or the Right. If a person is manic and myopic in their approach to it, they'll probably cause more harm than good. And here we are. Again.

I don't know if it can accurately be said that the mess we are in is attributable to only one thing. But if I were to choose one I would say the root cause is misinformation. I can't recall any conversation I've had with a trumple on the board that didn't include some reference by them to something that is plainly false.

It's the point at which most debates fall apart since they steadfastly refuse to accept demonstrable truths.

The mess you guys are in certainly can come down to one thing, your policies….demafacism doesn’t work

We thus can't stop either. NO MERCY FOR YOU FUCKERS.

Yes, exactly. In any communication, particularly when addressing a problem, realities have to be similar. Definitions have to be similar. If they're not, the communication is doomed.

I can handle arrogance and I can handle ignorance. Hell, we ALL have our moments. But arrogant ignorance? Dunning-Kruger? No. For whatever reason, it rubs me the wrong way.
