I wasn't getting any answers in this thread where the topic came up so I decided to start a new one to see if I would get any responses. How can a minor who can't vote and can't consent to sex consent to gender reassignment surgery before they reach puberty?

Well, except the incredibly large percentage have nothing to do with it! There is none of this indoctrination that supposedly has been occurring for decades never happened when I was a teacher, when my kids were in school, and not even now in our schools that my grandkids attend. I have a senior, junior and freshman in high school right now. I taught from 1996-2018 while my kids were in school. two graduated from the high school where I worked. I couldn't find a teacher hardly who knew what the word indoctrination meant, much less one who acted upon it.

They can't.

A minor can't get Gender Affirming Care without a parents' permission, unless parental supervision has been terminated, and then a guardian would be appointed. Gender Affirming Surgery almost never happens with minors, they are lucky if they can get hormone treatments.

That said, Minors have sex all the time, usually with other minors.
They are held accountable as adults for crimes if the crime is serious enough (and they aren't white enough).

2. Minors consent to sex with each other all the time and no one really takes issue with that. It's adults consenting to sex with minors that we have an issue with because of power dynamics and disparity of maturity levels.

3. The science does actually support the notion that minors can make informed health decisions. The part of the brain that matures last is the part that has to deal with short term risk taking behavior.

4. No one is getting reassignment surgery before puberty. The start of puberty is when hormone blockers, which precede any reassignment surgery, would first be administered.
