Leftwing media: ā€œBoth sides need to tone down rhetoricā€

I heard this blather on CNN this morning on Kasie Hunt’s show. Every one of her guests called for everyone to tone it down. ā€œBoth sides are to blameā€ is a common meme after the leftwing commits an egregious act of violence. Hunt, who is obnoxiously partisan, pointed to the mythical January 6 as an event where the ā€œother sideā€ did an equivalent violent act. The vast majority of hate rhetoric has come from the left. How many thousands of times has Trump been slammed personally and politically by the left. "Existential threat to Democracy" "Hitler clone" yada yada.

Even Trump faced criticism for his comments AFTER he was wounded. CBS said he should have ā€œlowered the temperatureā€. This is unbelievable

CBS anchor chides Trump statement after assassination attempt: 'No call for lowering the temperature'.

Had this happened to Biden, you know damn well the media would have fully blamed Trump and ā€œright-wing rhetoricā€, as they did after the 2011 Gabby Giffords shooting. That was Sarah Palin’s fault for using the word ā€˜targeting’ when talking about Congressional seats to be focused on. Conservative talk radio was blamed as well. Giffords’ shooter, Jared Loughner turned out to be a leftwing nut whose favorite book was the Communist Manifesto. He was hardly influenced by Rush Limbaugh. But no matter.

Gabrielle Giffords shooting reignites row over rightwing rhetoric in US

So here’s my prediction: Right now the media is saying ā€œboth sidesā€, but soon that will morph into ā€œTrump brought this on himselfā€ and ā€œThe chickens are coming home to roostā€. And make no mistake this ā€œincidentā€ as early headlines called it will be downplayed. ā€œAssassination attemptā€ will not be used.

Trump grabs a headline twice a day by design. No one has any influence over him. His rhetoric is violent and there's always some crackpots out there. Stop blaming media or democrats. Toning it down is good advice. Trump won't listen to that either.

Yes......the left needs to stop calling Trump Hitler....and we need to stop pointing out that they're comparing Trump to Hitler.

No. Trump's rhetoric is and always has been in response to the violent rhetoric of the left and the media.

The media needs to muzzle their hatred and tone it down. If they do so, the rest of the country will follow.

They own 100 percent of the hatred leading up to this assassination attempt.

Tone down???

Trump fuck that shit.jpg

Trump's assassination attempt had nothing to do with it. This country was over before any of that.

There can never be a 'coming together' or 'meeting of the minds' in this day and age, bub.

Look at these examples to show how a life or death, dem or rep win may go...

Ban abortion or no restriction abortion.

Ban guns or don't ban guns.

Open borders or closed borders.

Socialism or capitalism.

Transqueer your kindergarteners or don't transqueer your kindergarteners.

Kid friendly drag shows or no drag shows for kids.

Defund the police and decrease law and order or increase the police and law and order.

Promote homosexuality or don't promote homosexuality.

Legalize all drugs or don't legalize drugs.

Legalize prostitution or don't legalize prostitution. ...and on and on.

In the old days, both parties were not that far apart, bub. Both parties had the same foundational beliefs, but not anymore. That was the era of Tip O'Neill dems, bub. We are in the era of commie dems now. Losing an election was not life or death back then. Nowadays, the 2 parties are polar opposites and losing an election can mean life or death. There can never be a 'coming together' or 'meeting of the minds' in this day and age.

The left wing media does the same thing with everything. Fact: Biden is too old. MSM: both candidates are too old. Fact: Biden makes incendiary remarks and Trump gets shot, MSM: Both sides make incendiary remarks. Fact: Democrats use the media and internet to censor Republican's speech, MSM: It's Democrats responsibility to protect the people from what they consider Republican lies and hate speech. Let's face it, the left wing media sucks big time. MAGA

Received a text from President Trump last evening that blamed nobody. He thanked the Secret Service and law enforcement for their quick response to the situation and expressed condolences to the victims and their families who were killed/injured. He closed with a simple line "I will never surrender!" And he has since given God all the credit for him being alive now.

But Politico, nobody's idea of a right leaning publication, reported on Monday:
". . .Biden told donors during a private call on Monday, ā€œI have one job, and that’s to beat Donald Trump. I’m absolutely certain I’m the best person to be able to do that. So, we’re done talking about the debate, it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye,ā€ as Politico reports, citing a recording obtained. . ."
Biden’s ā€˜Bullseye’ Remark Resurfaces After Shooting at Trump Rally (first quick source I found)

Remember how Sarah Palin and so many others were heavily criticized/demonized for using terms like 'bullseye' and 'target' in the past? I'm not seeing the MSM heap the same kind of criticism on Biden.

I think you're right. Right now everybody is saying the politically correct things about the shooting being 'unacceptable' and 'wrong.' But I don't expect that to last long before the whole thing will be characterized as his fault.

The base problem with the situation is summed up as follows:

The Right thinks the Left's ideas are retarded, the Left thinks the Right's ideas shouldn't even exist.

If it's by design, then Progs fall for it. You sure sped enough time On Trump. When I change the channels damn near most of the time, I will see a banner that runs across the screen on the bottom of the TV with Trump's name on the Prog ones. It is you who keep him in the bullseye.

Hope it’s worth it.
Only one way to find out.

I like you well enough...so here is my honest advice to you.

If you're in a city...gtfo.

Be prepared for what comes next.

You think of civilization as a constant...founded on bedrock.

But civilization is a house of cards built on a foundation of sand.

What happens when the lights go out?

We already know the answer for the first day...

Prepare to to visit the most wealthy MAGAs in your area when the lights go out.
You'd have to leave Mom's basement, John.

We all know who has the stones and who doesn't.

You, John are doubly unfortunate.

No stones and no brains.

Stay in your basement, in your onesie and try not to shit your pants.

I don’t and never would live in a city. Cities are ugly. I prefer the beauty of nature. Cities are what the white men created.
I also don’t believe vengeance will solve anything. I look around this forum and posts claiming that this guy who took a shot at Trump warrants the elimination of Liberal Democrats. My people already went through this.
I really don’t see much hope for your country.

So you disagree with your sister lefties on here who are wetting the bed over Trump being controlled by "Project 2025?"

To the left "violent rhetoric" equal "anyone who disagrees with the left."
