America has been known for heavy handed approach to crime be it capital punishment,.long sentences, three strikes your out. Has it resulted in less crime? The problem is that humans are too often simple minded and lazy. To really decrease crime requires a shift in culture, rehabilitation for some so the can contribute after their errors. It is amazing that politicians can become multi-millionaires from a career in politics, seemingly selling out their constituents and not onlonly are they not charged, but they prosper for.decades. If the West wants to take one aspect from China worth having it isntheir strict rules against corruption. THAT is the crime that needs addressing. One.aspect from.Scandanavian countries, their rehabilitation of criminals that decreases repeat crime. 90% Of the other stuff is social and/or economical in origin. Difficult to address and few politicians or.citizens have the grey matter needed to figure it out.
