We all need to reflect on the polarization and violence that dominates our politics

The Left shouldn't have killed Charlie....he was an example of how to talk peacefully and respectfully....

Now the Right has no example to follow....

I really wouldn't want to be on the Left in the aftermath to come.

Without peaceful leadership....you get even more violent reprisals.
Lock and Load!

The murder of Charlie Kirk will have repercussions that brain-dead libs cannot even imagine

Hang on cause its going to be a bumpy ride
Charlie was our example of how to have peaceful and respectful discussions....

God said it was time to end peaceful discussions.

What happens after the talking is done?

I want the new Ft Sumter event to be started by libs

A civil war seems unavoidable

But I prefer for them to start it

This is all you need to say.

The rest is bullshit.
You might think so, but that would leave people (including potential social/political influencers) thinking they were securely protected by their first amendment rights to speak as they wish, without regard to how some nut ball might take and react (possibly violently) to the totality of their speech. Most people know, it only protects you from the government, but won't help you out in a bar, or protect you from nut balls out in society. On average, bodyguards security details and minimum basic procedures and venue selection do a much more reliable job.

What it sounds like is victim blaming.

As Dad would say, "there's right, and there's dead right." Sometimes you have to react to the reality of the situation. Although looking like a fat old bear with mange, I am not a public figure. As such I can expect normal threats for normal people. If I am a public figure, then it is prudent to act accordingly, especially in such a capacity.

Then feel free to encouraging people you support or might support to speak publicly, vehemently, and often in public, taking no precautions, whatsoever, for their security in the venue they choose to speak. It makes no difference to me. I am simply speaking in terms of actual, scholastically, and militarily trained Risk Management. Somebody in government, and academia, thought the subject matter important and leading to better outcome. Somebody else, thought, that the situations, they wanted me prepared to be responsible for, and manage, thought it import, to have me in those classes. You influence how you choose. I simply urge basic precautions, with a consistent approach to Risk Assessment criteria based on reality and history of success/fail, along with improvement to basic operation and standard operational procedure, across the board. If your training, negates that, I would be interested to see the data, proving it.

Both sides (yes, "both sides", get over it) need to man up and acknowledge their part in creating this mess. Stop pointing fingers and look in the mirror.

Americans, on both sides of the political spectrum, are incensed by the senseless assassination of Charlie Kirk. There needs to be a focus on the needs of Kirk’s wife and children, so sad. There are idiots on both sides of the political spectrum who react, inappropriately, to violence toward politicians of the opposite party. In the past several months, besides the Charlie Kirk assassination, there were two attempted assassinations of Donald Trump, an attempted assassination of two democratic Minnesota legislators, ending in 3 deaths. and an arson fire started in the home of the democratic governor of Pennsylvania as his family slept upstairs.

Too often, one side blames the other side for everything that bad happens. Nobody can have it all the way we want. For success everyone must give a little.

We all need to find a way to lower the temperature. We need to work on finding areas of commonality. There will always be differences. We need to find a way to deal with the differences in a more functional way.

It is up to us, not someone else.
**** you Elmer, ******* liberal and shit. Just kidding.

I basically agree, but nations need leadership and if the leadership does not share your desire to lower the temperature then it's futile. If the President doesn't seek to reduce tensions, reduce division then it's a hopeless thing to seek.

Translation:

The radical right are legitimate and those who oppose them are illegitimate.

The country has no chance when he speaks this way. Trump loves division, the country is very probably doomed to descend into an unrecognizable autocracy and there's absolutely nothing anyone can do about it.

You either embrace maga and get onboard with their agenda, or you make yourself an enemy of the state, that's basically the choice every American needs to make.

Perhaps making this point separately and simply express a sadness that a conservative cannot express themselves freely on a college campus without an Army of security or risk being shot and killed...assassinated... by an Antifa sympathizing, college indoctrinated gunman filled with hatred by leftist rhetoric.

It's ok not to reply. I know the leftist in you screams that you must somehow blunt the impact of this statement... but the truth is the truth.

We need a nationwide commitment to reject those who would divide us. The parties, the media, foreign adversaries - there are plenty of "interests" goading us into internal strife. They benefit from it in various ways. WE don't. WE die for their power struggle.

Or, the alternative is to lock up every violent leftist so that normal people can go about their peaceful day.

You're rejected.

Thanks for the advice.
