We all need to reflect on the polarization and violence that dominates our politics

sure

Senate Republicans on Wednesday narrowly voted to table an amendment directing the Department of Justice to release all the files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein after Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) ambushed them with a procedural maneuver that left Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) fuming.

But the 51-49 vote revealed the deep divisions that persist within the party over how to handle the Epstein files amid loud calls from MAGA voters for more transparency.

Again, a procedural vote.

You keep falling for it, dupe.

Look at this way. Your claim is he is blowing up the system

my claim it is business as usual based on the following:

Trump said he was going to release the information during interviews on the campaign trail and here we are 9 months later and nothing to show for it. When confronted Trump gets angry "we are we talking about this guy"

Nothing changes unless and until the ends of the spectrum hold their own, accountable. We're not within a thousand miles of that right now.
When the left does something that Mac1958 cant defend he attacks the right

I'm done with the river of blood from the innocent.

No it doesn't. Our nation is becoming more depraved and reprobate by the day. Has nothing to with different types of voting/representation. Has to do with what is coming.

Well, I understand the impact an electoral system can have on voters and politicians. It's like changing the engine of a car, you can end up with something completely different afterwards.

Sides. What are they good for? Absolutely nothing.

Americans, on both sides of the political spectrum, are incensed by the senseless assassination of Charlie Kirk. There needs to be a focus on the needs of Kirk’s wife and children, so sad. There are idiots on both sides of the political spectrum who react, inappropriately, to violence toward politicians of the opposite party. In the past several months, besides the Charlie Kirk assassination, there were two attempted assassinations of Donald Trump, an attempted assassination of two democratic Minnesota legislators, ending in 3 deaths. and an arson fire started in the home of the democratic governor of Pennsylvania as his family slept upstairs.

Too often, one side blames the other side for everything that bad happens. Nobody can have it all the way we want. For success everyone must give a little.

We all need to find a way to lower the temperature. We need to work on finding areas of commonality. There will always be differences. We need to find a way to deal with the differences in a more functional way.

It is up to us, not someone else.
“We” don’t have to reflect on anything. It’s the left and always has been.

Keep harping on sideshows like this, it just makes Trump's job easier to get done what he wants to get done.

this is no sideshow Marty Trump ran on releasing the information

Epstein cut a sweetheart deal with the government to avoid federal prosecution. The deal was signed off on by then-US attorney in Miami, Alexander Acosta, who became labor secretary in the first Trump term in 2017. Epstein’s victims say they weren’t made aware of the plea deal until after it was agreed to, despite notification being a legal requirement.

Marty, one thing is certain, 13 to 16 year old girls
