Because Pediatric Medicine will completely fall apart if children are allowed to sue for therapies their parents agreed to when they become adults.

For instance, when I was a child, my parents' quack doctors and their thieving Catholic hospital realized my father had a good union insurance plan they could extract money from. So they had my parents absolutely convinced I was suffering from a variety of neuromuscular issues. I wasn't. I was just ungainly as a child. I'm ungainly as an adult. So pretty much for years they subjected me to all sorts of tests and therapies, a lot of them involving needles.

now, imagine if I could sue them for the trauma they inflicted. Imagine every child who didn't like his pediatrician suing when they become an adult because they had a bad experience.
