Stating the obvious: Mr. Alba did nothing except defend himself against a violent criminal, and there's no chance a jury will ever convict him.
Having said that, it's outrageous that Mr. Alba should have to go through the stress and aggravation of being arrested. It will be an even bigger outrage if the case actually makes it to trial.
This is a prime example of reasonable self-defense. There was disparity of force and an imminent threat of great bodily harm. He didn’t immediately stab the aggressor, but only did so when he had no choice, and his life was in danger. There should be protests NOW over the fact that Alba is even being charged with second degree murder over this clear example of lawfully justified self- defense. Shame on Bragg and Adams.
Both are a disgrace and a threat to society. The fact that such people can get elected to positions of power is yet another sign of this once-great city and country's slow and steady decline. God help us all.

Actually, Alba is lucky that Austin Simon wasn't strapped thing might have ended differently.
Then again with the NYC gun laws having a knife was Alba's only choice for self-protection whereas the perpetrator Austin Simon had a choice of any weapon available on the black market.
