Left-Wing Challenge: Why isn't $5.2 TRILLION enough to run the Federal Government?

  • Reduce "war department" spending in half. (~$500B)
  • Means test SS (~$150B) and remove the cap (~$250B)
  • Raise rates to historic levels of tax rates for Corporations (~$200B) and Personal Incomes (~$400B)
  • Create a public healthcare option instead of funding private healthcare (~$200B)
Bam.. budget balanced. (~$1.7T fixed easily)

Why is your answer to tax the successful even more to give more and more to the idiots in DC to piss away?

Why do you never entertain cutting spending instead? Why is your solution to always take more from the successful?

If they can't live on over $5 trillion to do the very few things the Constitution authorizes them to do, they need to go home.

Is this not enough? Isn't this "fair" enough?

$100B in steak and pianos.

One Track here can't explain why the feds can't live on $5.2 trillion.
Oh well...............
Here is the 2025 (Biden) Budget. Spending was $6.88T. So what all do you cut?

2025 Federal Budget ($6.88T, 2025 deficit approx $1.88T)

Mandatory Spending ($5.10T)
Social Security $1.50T
Medicare $1.10T
Interest on Debt $0.95T
Medicaid & Welfare $1.55T

Discretionary Spending ($1.78T)
Defense $0.90T
Non-Defense $0.74T. (health, education, housing, infrastructure)
Emergency & Disaster Relief $0.14T

The only way to force the federal government, regardless of which party hold the majority, to balance the budget is to pass a balanced budget amendment requiring them to do so. Otherwise they will always play kick the can down the road.

Tons of fraud in the medical, education (go back to States as Trump was doing?).

Cut the fraud, overcharged, waste etc. in defense too . Cut them all 10% then maybe they will cut their own fraud?

Anything that can’t be linked to a specific clause in the Constitution is immediately gone.

I’m guessing that’s 60-70% of the budget.

It isn't enough $$ because there are no penalties for going over the budget.
