Ukraine would cede territory to Russia in draft of Trump peace plan obtained by AP
President Donald Trump’s plan for ending the war in Ukraine would cede territory to Russia and limit the size of Kyiv’s military, according to a draft proposal obtained by The Associated Press.apnews.com
Some highlights (or lowlights) from the article:
There seems to be little in it for Ukraine or the US. One has to wonder on what planet such a plan ever saw the light of day.
- For example, the proposal would not only bar Ukraine from joining NATO but would also prevent the alliance’s future expansion. Such a step would be a significant victory for Moscow, which views NATO as a threat.
- Putin would also gain ground he has been unable to win on the battlefield. Under the draft, Moscow would hold all the eastern Donbas region, even though approximately 14% still remains in Ukrainian hands. Ukraine’s military, currently at roughly 880,000 troops, would be reduced to 600,000.
- Under the proposal, Russia would commit to making no future attacks, something the White House views as a concession.
- Russia would also be allowed to keep half of the power generated by Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, Zaporizhzhia, which it captured from Ukraine early during the war.
Until the Soviets want more. Then…they just take it. Why wouldn’t they? There is no price to pay for aggression. Right? That is a lie. Ukraine would keep its independence and its democracy
And you’re arguing that anything goes.Russia says take this deal or keep fighting. So you vote to keep fighting? In case you forgot, Russia had Donbas since 2014, so I can argue Ukraine is not giving up much territory.
Agreed no US troops.
You are arguing for an outcome that can't happen. Putin would never leave any of the territory he occupies and paid for with a million Russian casualties, so your options are take the deal or keep fighting and lose more of Ukraine.
You embody the battered wife syndrome.Peace, prosperity, and independence from Russia. Also, no more being bombed by Russian drones.
Europe has rejected the plan

Ukraine agrees to this and Russia will be back in a year to start more killing, destruction and suffering.Good. End the killing, destruction and suffering today. No matter the terms.
You need to learn even in your advanced stage of life, never support war even when your radical partisanship tells you otherwise.
It hardly matters. Two weeks from now, Trump will be back to full support of Ukraine.Seems like Trump's attempt to take something (survival of Ukrainian militants and Kievan regime) for nothing - vague promises and empty words, that will be forgotten in the day of signature of the threaty. And anyway, European elites and Kievan regime will refuse it. Any peace means death sentence to them.
Ukraine formally agrees to this and Ukraine will continue terroristic attacks immediately after signing as it was with both Minsk agreements.Ukraine agrees to this and Russia will be back in a year to start more killing, destruction and suffering.
Vlad's friend doesn't care about the terms for Ukraine. He wants to get credit for ending the fighting. I can't see Ukraine agreeing to such awful terms for its future security.AP Reporting:

If Russian people in Kharkov, Nikolayev and Odessa want to rejoin Russian Federation, Kievan regime should allow them to peacefully vote pro or contra. They are human beings and have human rights. They are not anyone's property.Until Russia wants more....
Then what?
Or they could rejoin the Russian Federation by moving somewhere that is currently part of it and not threaten Ukrainian sovereignty. If Russian people in Kharkov, Nikolayev and Odessa want to rejoin Russian Federation, Kievan regime should allow them to peacefully vote pro or contra. So if the Iranians in Detroit wanted to create an Iranian enclave in Michigan...they are human beings and they have human rights...they’re not anyone’s property, right? If Russian people in Kharkov, Nikolayev and Odessa want to rejoin Russian Federation, Kievan regime should allow them to peacefully vote pro or contra. If they can't agree to peace - they can continue fighting. But without American and NATO money and weapons.Vlad's friend doesn't care about the terms for Ukraine. He wants to get credit for ending the fighting. I can't see Ukraine agreeing to such awful terms for its future security.
Majority choose. If minority can't live with Russians and respect their human rights they can move in Canada and/or Argentina. They love Nazies.Or they could rejoin the Russian Federation by moving somewhere that is currently part of it and not threaten Ukrainian sovereignty.
As far as I know, American government don't play stupid Nazi games like banning Persian language, or demonstrative mass murders of Persians. That's what democracy and tolerance means. Ethnic Iranians are pretty safe (as safe as all other American citizens) that is why they don't need to fight against central government. Anyway, local communities in America are almost independent in such questions. So if the Iranians in Detroit wanted to create an Iranian enclave in Michigan...they are human beings and they have human rights...they’re not anyone’s property, right?
