Happy Labor Day!

"Labor Day should be recognized as the holiday that celebrates not only labor, but also the ideas, job creators, and institutions central to the flourishing of the United States and its people.

For most people, Labor Day is a rather vague holiday without the clarity and meaning typically associated with other holidays. Yet in its most complete context, Labor Day should be recognized as the holiday that celebrates not only labor, but also the ideas, job creators, and institutions central to the flourishing of the United States and its people.

For starters, consider the tools brought by the colonists who arrived in the New World along the eastern seaboard that would become the United States. These were the same rudimentary tools — such as shovels, axes, hoes, and ploughs — that had been used for prior centuries. But something happened in America that sped up economic development and transformed labor output beyond what had ever happened previously in human history..."

A country being pushed into a civil war by the lies of an obvious con man is not exceptional.

A country whose very democratic process is teetering on collapse is not exceptional.

A country containing a political party that keeps talking about splitting it up is not exceptional.

A country operating under two sets of competing realities is not exceptional.

A country that the world fears is falling into the abyss is not exceptional.

Maybe one day we'll be exceptional again. Not now.

The only person pushing us into a civil type war is Biden and the democrats.

I am not going to celebrate the labor movement because i think it is a day that people associate with labor unions which are no long justified, desireable, worthy of any celebration.

I will celebrate small business owners and their employees. Their ideas and ingenuity. THEY are what propel this nation. Sadly they are being put out of business by democrat collusion with BIG business, labor unions and Big Pharma chicanery.

Labor Day seems to just be a celebration of Big Labor and the chieftains who run the labor rackets.

Not the ordinary working people.

I'd love to see Labor Day Parades have Scab workers march as well- it would be great to see Walmart Associates proudly marching down the nation's main streets along with the business agents and organizers for the Laborers and Cement Mixers Unions.

Labor unions are what have made life tolerable for average working people. They fought the corrupt industrial tyrants who were out to take advantage of people. Eed still be living in those times without them. I salute the unions.
Yin Yang. Another case of a once-necessary messenger ultimately putting itself above the message. Like the NAACP.

Labor day is about the average working person who busts it day in and day out to barely scrape by. Those are the people that make the nation go. The us has far and away the hardest working people on earth. It's not even a contest.
Labor day was once known as international workers day and is still celebrated nearly everywhere in the world on the first of May. It's basically a show of force against the "job creators" by organized labor. In an effort to distance the American labor movement from the socialist roots of May day they made a new holiday in September and made every effort to make Americans forget it was originally meant to celebrate labor unions and the power of worker solidarity.

Unions. A celebration of unions and the progressive movement of the late 1800s/early 1900s.

Labor day is a half-assed concession to the labor movement after the once very popular May day celebrations were banned in most American cities.
Interesting trivia....a lot of the castle-like National Guard Armories built east of the Mississippi in the late 1800s/early 1900s were built because the government became really con-cerned about a worker's revolt.

Your accusations are really a con-fession. We haven't forgotten January 6th.

Unions are no longer justified because you say so or because they have better wages and benefits than you? The steel company I worked for recently installed the world`s most advance rolling mill at a cost of $1.2 billion dollars and they paid for it in cash, not loans from bankers. It`s the dependable and motivated union rank and file that enabled them to have that kind of money. Do they know that they are out of business because of the union? It`s fair to say that you don`t know shit about unions. This country`s best days were when there were more unionized workers. CEOs were content with making 30X more than their average worker but today they need 400X the worker`s pay.

Our nurses here are considering a strike in the near future. I have a strong suspicion the hospital will arrive to meet the demands.

Is that what they taught you at the U of SSR?
