LA Fire: Turning Out Far Worse Than We Ever Imagined

It is definitely worse than imagined, the devastation is surreal... and heartbreaking. I was born and spent my early childhood in LA (Los Feliz hills, this was way back before the state went blue) and also lived in other parts of LA in my 20s. There's always fires in CA every year, but this one is different. A lot of people are saying they've never seen anything like it. And there are a lot of questions that need to be asked... but as of now, I don't think it was an accident.

Democrats destroyed California.

Things are not going well in LA. The two main fires still burn out of control with no end in sight for when they might be contained. It is now aiming to be the costliest fire in US history. Insured losses now are at least 20 billion and that does not include UNINSURED losses! Damage is approaching 30,000 acres and going and now they are heading out into regions of territory far more difficult for firefighters to manage.

Close to 200,000 people are now under evacuation orders, at least ten people are already known dead, some of the priciest real estate has been destroyed, with thousands of home structures destroyed at an average cost of 3 million. Total losses could end up near 60 billion dollars.

Worse, as I follow the fire, next could be in danger the Griffith Observatory, much of the Hollywood studio movie district, the Bel Air region west of Beverly Hills containing the nicest homes including the most expensive home in the world where in the 1960s they shot The Beverly Hillbillies as their supposed home.

Malibu has been gutted and if the fire spreads further, it could destroy the region now the Malibu Park which was once the Fox Movie Ranch where they shot TV shows like M*A*S*H, Kung Fu and many other movies and TV shows. The entire movie and TV industry is at risk. The only good news is that it appears that the worst of the Santa Anna Winds have passed and are dying down.

My prayers go out to everyone affected by the wildfires in California. LA Strong! Cal Strong!

They won't get far. Authorities have warned looters that this time, democrats intend to enforce laws. They CAN enforce laws when they want to.
Now all they gotta do is catch them in the act.
Problem is all the prisons are burned down.
They've asked Robert DeNiro and Nancy Pelosi if they can temporarily put up prisoners in their garages.
Mayor Karen Bass said that all thefts over $900 will be prosecuted. :smoke:
The authorities won't do shit.

this is so tragic.

In Greek literature, the true definition of tragedy is when a heroic character, through his own failings, suffers his fate.

California, that once great state and one of the largest economic engines in the world, through it's own hubris and stupidity, has fallen in rack and ruin.

Californians did this to themselves so it is more than just tragic, it is a literal tragedy.

The Palisades fire came all the way over the hill, it's in Encino and Tarzana now.

This shit is simply unforgivable.

The winds have died down, they can fly tankers out of LAX and Burbank.

The fucking dimwitted mayor is simply clueless. Her career is over, she won't get re-elected. We're talking 500,000 very wealthy taxpaying homeowners that suddenly discovered they can't get any services from the city.

Maybe this will wake up some of the leftard celebrities, but I doubt it. Leftards are so insane they'll get their houses burnt to the ground and still vote for the same "leadership".

The idiotic mayor Bass is giving all the homeless people free bus rides and she can't find a goddamn fire truck.

FYI, these are Canadian super scoopers. The Canucks sent them down to help us.

The closest domestic scoopers are based in Lancaster, at the northern edge of LA County. There are some rotary tankers at Whiteman Airport near Sylmar, and some fixed wing assets based in Van Nuys.

Whiteman Airport is presently under FAA safety review because of some recent crashes.

LAFD air operations headquarters is at the old national guard site on Arminta street in Van Nuys.
