Know Your History: Jews Transforming The Land(NY Times, 1890-1912)

And I'm not going to question the report of a respected newpaper, concerning events which happened long before you (?) or I were born.
This is not about questioning. The premise is idiotic unless you believe as posed in post 2 that...

If Oklahoma isn't so great, that Mexico can invade.

In short, you won't defend your OP because at least on some level you realize the idiocy it vomits.

No way could you have read The Republic, with an intellect like yours.

So your argument is that it wasn't that great, so it was open to hostile take over?

Even someone like you knows that Israel has been a Jewish homeland for 3,000 years. They were their 1,500 years BEFORE the Arabs.

Actually Jews were in ancient Canaan 2400 years before the Arab/Muslim invasion. From Abraham until Mohammad "woke up" due to the Christian "Invasion" spreading their Word and converting Arabs to Christianity.

I like it that Israeli cool has all of those articles which show what was really going on in the Land of Israel via witnesses who wrote books, articles or anything else which totally contradicts the endless Arab/Muslim "Palestinian" narrative of THEM being the indigenous people of the land.

Their own Quran contradicts everything they have been saying for the past 100 years in order to destroy a sovereign Israel.

What makes a people "indigenous"?

Can you provide a relevant definition of what makes indigenous from a decent source?

ALL indigenous people are now LAUGHING at you.

And since the Arab "Palestinians" are indigenous of ARABIA, they are also taking a good belly laugh at what you just wrote.

Very few of the ancestors of Arab Palestinians are from Arabia. Arab is a linguistic and cultural denomination. Think of it like Hispanic. What is hilarious is your poor attempt at propaganda. The Palestinians are descendants of the people that have always lived in Palestine (including Jews) amalgamated with an influx of mostly non-Arabian pilgrims. The Arabians came as rulers, not settlers.

Yes, I know that facts annoy propagandists.

As I keep showing with this history series, there was a time when the New York Times reported honestly, and their reports from the time are very illuminating when it comes to the Arab-Israeli conflict and the competing narratives.

The palestinian Arabs and their allies claim the Jews came from Europe, took their land, and then expelled them, the indigenous people of the land. We are also led to believe that had we not come back to our homeland, life would be fine and dandy for the Arabs living here, and that we ruined their lives.

Back in July 1890, the New York Times ran this piece describing just what Palestine was like at the time.

You are commenting without knowing the context of this message board. Tinmore keeps saying that even before the Jews came, Palestine was a thriving country.

It's the manifest destiny thing, the natives were in the way of progress so they had to be dealt with one way or another. On the other hand, Palestine did well during the Latin Kingdom period and afterwards with the tourist florins the locals got from the Latin pilgrims. Of course, the Venetians and other Italian Maritime Republics did well too, transporting the pilgrims.

What makes a people "indigenous"?

You mean like the UN definition?

Indigenous peoples are inheritors and practitioners of unique cultures and ways of relating to people and the environment. They have retained social, cultural, economic and political characteristics that are distinct from those of the dominant societies in which they live.

Self- identification as indigenous peoples at the individual level and accepted by the community as their member.
Historical continuity with pre-colonial and/or pre-settler societies
Strong link to territories and surrounding natural resources
Distinct social, economic or political systems
Distinct language, culture and beliefs
Form non-dominant groups of society
Resolve to maintain and reproduce their ancestral environments and systems as distinctive peoples and communities.

Just to highlight a few things:

1. Indigeneity is defined by culture (not genetics or race).
2. Indigeneity is the culture which existed in the territory PRE-INVASION, colonization or settlement.
3. Indigenous peoples determine for themselves who belongs to their group.
4. While non-dominance is generally useful to define indigeneity, Israel is one of the few indigenous cultures to no longer be non-dominant on their ancestral territory. This is, in part, the intent of UN resolutions concerning indigenous peoples -- to foster international acceptance and law of indigenous self-government.

Israel is one of the few indigenous cultures to no longer be non-dominant on their ancestral territory.
OOOOOPS, there you go again conflating biblical Jews with European, terrorist immigrants.

Palestine did well during the Latin Kingdom period and afterwards with the tourist florins the locals got from the Latin pilgrims.

If "doing well" is the criteria for sovereignty of the territory, then Israel wins.

Why wouldn't I conflate them? They are the same. They are the inheritors and practioners of the culture, as the UN definition demonstrates. In fact, trying to divorce them is silly.

That's crap and you know it. The Europeans who are originally from what is now Turkey and immigrated to Palestine are a completely different people from the biblical Jews and real Jews don't thieve and murder, let alone G-d's children in the Holy Land.

If doing well means thieving and murdering, right?

So, Rome was not thieving and murdering when it took over Judea, but the return of the Jewish people to their indigenous territory was? Hard sell, there.

Rome did thieve and murder.

Two wrongs never make a right.

It is not today's terrorist jews' territory and never was.

The Jewish people are the inheritors and the practioners of the culture of the biblical Jews. They are the same culture, the same people. They match the UN definition.
