Correct.Penal codes are GREAT for punishing those who infringe on the rights of others. They do nothing to prevent future crimes except as a deterrent.

No, the NRA is all about protecting the rights of its members. I agree that the murder of the children at Sandy Hook was immoral and it happened in one of the most restrictive states that have the gun laws you wish to apply to the rest of the nation. Those laws didn't stop Sandy Hook nor will they stop anyone who has murder in their heart. IF you really cared about victims, you'd rail against violence and its use in our society. THAT is where reform needs to address itself.
