....if you know how to 'listen.'
1. A great pity, what education has come to at the hands of Liberals/Democrats. Had it not come to simple indoctrination, more would understand what we have to learn from history. Just one example: the Left's stated aim of ending traditional marriage and the nuclear family. The idea is so far, far from the center of Western Civilization, from earlier thinkers, that they cannot point to a single philosopher, sage, or religious leader throughout history who has endorsed the view.
Consider all the other irrational ideas on the agenda of the Democrat Party....anti-white racism, socialism, infanticide, opposition to free speech, substituting illegal alien voters for the American citizenry, support for rioters, arsonists, murderers, and anarchists, and anti-Semitism…and note which sorts of individuals and societies championed those views.
Supporters of ‘America’ are those who champion liberty and individualism. Enemies are collectivists who demand the bending of the neck and the knee to the collective.
2. Which brings me to one of my favs, Rudyard Kipling, who penned "Macdonough's Song' a hundred years back.....and see how it presages the advance of the Obama-Biden Democrat Party.
"I found this poem in the forepage of a Tom Clancy novel: The Teeth of the Tiger. The book is about terrorism, the poem is about terrorism, and unfortunately our current era is all too much about terrorism. This poem was written sometime between 1899 and his death in 1936. Kipling is writing about 'coersive collectivism', but here he demonstrates Cassandra's gift, fortelling issues which we now face in our daily lives and fears.
The poem is about mass movements and the people who ride them to power. Kipling saw the rise of both the Soviet Union and the Nazis. He knew his history, and remembered the French Revolution.
The source of the mass movement does not matter. The evil comes when unchecked power justifies itself by "the will of the people". Kipling: Macdonough's Song
3. Remember that Kipling was a foe of socialism, and he saw the rise of the Nazis and the Bolsheviks.....view this poem with an eye to the Democrats:
WHETHER the State can loose and bind
In Heaven as well as on Earth:
If it be wiser to kill mankind
Before or after the birth—
These are matters of high concern
Where State-kept schoolmen are;
But Holy State (we have lived to learn)
Endeth in Holy War.
Whether The People be led by The Lord,
Or lured by the loudest throat:
If it be quicker to die by the sword
Or cheaper to die by vote—
These are things we have dealt with once,
(And they will not rise from their grave)
For Holy People, however it runs,
Endeth in wholly Slave.
.....
Once there was The People—Terror gave it birth;
Once there was The People and it made a Hell of Earth.
Earth arose and crushed it. Listen, O ye slain!
Once there was The People—it shall never be again!
Celebrate this????
The same if Biden wins.
