The "strongest" argument made by Trump supporters in the House regarding the now infamous memo........alleges that the FBI STRONGLY relied on the Steele dossier to convince the FISA judge to grant them a warrant to monitor Carter Page's activities.......
The key sentence in the memo states:
Furthermore, Deputy Director McCabe testified before the Committee in December 2017 that no surveillance warrant would have been sought from the FISC without the Steele dossier information.
Now, notice the wording and the use of the verb (past tense,) SOUGHT.....
Compare the term "sought," used by McCabe, with the much stronger term had McCabe used, APPROVED.
In short, had McCabe stated that the warrant would NOT have been APPROVED without the dossier, THEN Trump supporters would have a stronger case.....But, what McCabe actually stated is that the seeking of a warrant to monitor Page did rely on the dossier..........
Simply put, what Trump supporters are alleging, is that the FISA judge must have been a stooge for the FBI and not objective enough to discern the important reasons for APPROVING a warrant.
