Brett Kavanaugh was questioned by police after bloody bar fight in Connecticut
While an undergraduate at Yale University, Brett Kavanaugh was questioned by police over his alleged involvement in a bloody bar fight, according to a police report unearthed Monday.

The report, which was obtained by The New York Times, states officers with the New Haven Police Department questioned Kavanaugh over allegedly throwing ice at another patron at a local bar in September 1985.

After Kavanaugh tossed ice at the man, a witness told responding officers that Kavanaugh’s friend Chris Dudley hit him with a glass, leaving him “bleeding from the right ear,” according to the report.

A White House spokesman did not immediately return a request for comment. Kavanaugh’s lawyer did not respond to emailed questions.

New text messages suggest the Supreme Court nominee and his lawyers contacted old classmates in an effort to discredit Deborah Ramirez, NBC reports.

Multiple reports on Monday evening shed light on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s recent efforts to rein in his friends’ comments about his behavior as a student at Yale University.

NBC News reported that Kavanaugh and his legal team had been texting with the judge’s college friends to undercut classmate Deborah Ramirez’s allegations of sexual misconduct before she went public in The New Yorker. The messages, summarized in a memo obtained by NBC, suggest that Kavanaugh’s relationship to Ramirez was closer than he let on and that she was uncomfortable around him when they were both at a wedding 10 years after they graduated.

Ramirez was the second woman to accuse Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct, saying he exposing himself at a gathering when they were both in college and thrust his penis in her face. She said she was inebriated but confident enough in her recollection to go public and ask the FBI to investigate the claims.

Evidently, its purpose was to allow Blasey Ford a means of escape if Kavanaugh landed his Harrier in front of her home and attempted to once again lay hands on her. Well, Christine got her door. But she didn’t get in 2012, and no marriage counselor was involved. It happens that the permit for remodeling her home – including adding the door -- was obtained in 2008. If Palo Alto is like other municipalities, the permit would be good for six months, with an option for a six-month extension. So the door must have been added at that time. And in fact, photographic evidence exists showing the new door in place in 2011, a year before Blasey Ford claims that it nearly destroyed her marriage.

In addition, somebody was running a business there (a “couples therapy” clinic, ironically enough – the “Couples Research Center.” There’s that word “research” again.), and that the door was added as an entrance to the business, rather than as a Kavanaugh-evasion device.

While these claims might appear minor in isolation, together they form a pattern recognizable and undeniable. There will no doubt be others coming, but three is all we need, according to the wisdom of Auric Goldfinger: “Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, three times is enemy action.”

The Fords bought the house on June 20, 2007. And the “very extensive, very long remodel,” including the second front door, were completed under a building permit granted in 2008.

So a natural question is why, four years after the remodeling, which also added two rooms and a bathroom, is the installation of that second door still such a bone of contention between the couple that it was an issue in the counseling they were undergoing in May 2012? (snip)

the additional remodeling in effect added a self-contained unit to the house, with its own entrance, perfect for “hosting” or even possibly renting, in violation of the local zoning.

Perhaps a professional office might be a perfect use, if an illegal one. And in the tight Palo Alto real estate market, there are a lot of games played for some serious income.

And that may answer another strange anomaly. Because since 1993, and through some listings even today, there was another tenant at what is now the Ford property. It is listed as this person’s residence from 1993 to July 2007, a week or so after she sold the house to the Fords.

Her name is Dr. Sylvia Randall, and she listed this address for her California licensed practice of psychotherapy, including couples psychotherapy, until her move to Oregon in 2007.

Currently she only practices in that state, where she also pursues her new career as a talented artist as well.

But many existing directories still have Dr. Randall’s address listed at what is now the Ford residence.

Which raises other questions. Why has Christine Ford never said a word about Dr. Randall? And why has she been evasive about the transcripts of her crucial 2012 therapy session, which she can’t seem to recall much about either? Did she provide them to the Washington Post, or did she just provide the therapist’s summary? Who was the psychologist?

In a phone call, I asked Dr. Randall if she had sold her house to the Fords. She asked back how I had found out. I asked if she was the couples therapist who treated the Fords. She would not answer yes or no, replying, “I am a couples therapist.”

The therapist’s notes might reveal a lot, but are protected by medical confidentiality. However, did Blasey Ford vitiate that protection if she handed the notes to the WaPo reporter? I am no expert, but that might explain why she was so evasive on that point under questioning by Rachel Mitchell.
