WTF? I don't blame her for bristling at the oft-repeated suggestion but for many of the 2020 Democrat Socialist's, VP is their only hope of getting an office in the West Wing. That said, our VPs are just a heartbeat away from the Oval Office. Do we really need to elect a guy who would be 78 when inaugurated with Kamala as his backup?

'It's infuriating': Kamala Harris team galled by Biden veep talk

Harris isn't a Democratic Socialist.
That is the political party for which she now stands and if one waddles and quacks like a duck...
Kamala Harris on the issues, in under 500 words

Kamala Harris' stance on key issues:

  • Green New Deal: She's among the list of 2020 hopefuls who signed on as a co-sponsor of the bill.
  • Medicare for All: She co-sponsored Sen. Bernie Sanders' bill.
  • Marijuana legalization: She's declared her support for legalizing marijuana at the federal level, admitting in an interview that she had smoked a joint "a long time ago." Signed on as a cosponsor of Cory Booker's Marijuana Justice Act to legalize weed at the federal level.
  • Teacher pay: Announced in March a plan to give the average teacher a $13,500 salary increase, which would cost an estimated $315 billion over 10 years.
  • Taxes: Last October, she introduced the LIFT the Middle Class Act which, Vox's Dylan Matthews explains, was basically an expansion of the earned income tax credit. Earlier that year, she proposed the Rent Relief Act, which would offer tax credits to help with rents.
  • Sex work: Harris told The Root that she supports decriminalizing sex work, saying "we can't criminalize consensual behavior as long as no one is being harmed."
  • Death penalty: Harris has called for a national moratorium on the death penalty.
  • Guns: Harris is proposing banning the importation of AR-15-style assault weapons. She also suggested executive orders requiring background checks, closing the "boyfriend" loophole, and repealing a law that doesn't allow victims to hold gun manufactures responsible.

None of which would make one a democratic socialist. You could at least attempt to make an argument for the first two but that doesn't really define a democratic socialist either. Marijuana legalization and being against the death penalty makes one a democratic socialist?

You guys constantly confuse democratic socialism with the likes of Stalin and laughably Hitler, what are their records on the death penalty? I mean, your list is kind of a joke.

Most of the Dem candidates simply want name recognition for 2024. If Biden gets the nomination, he will certainly want a woman on the ticket. The calculation for Kamala would be the (negative) risk of being a losing VP candidate versus the (positive) risk if Biden promised to serve only one term.

She's dangerous. I hope they don't put her close to real power.
