My son told me around Christmas that his wife was pregnant. They were supposed to find out the gender in March but something happened they rescheduled for a few weeks later. They had the gender reveal party this past weekend. Hubby and I went over in March because we thought that was when it was and to bring what they still had in storage here. We told them that we would have to do the gender reveal over facetime. Anyway . I suprised my son he was shocked took him at least 15sec before he realized it was me, he broke down crying and hugged me for at least 10 minutes .. The gender reveal was Sat . i am a mom to 3 sons so when they cut the cake and it has Pink in side I was over the moon. Of course I would have been happy to see blue because this mom knows BOYS .. but it was so fun buying little girl stuff this past weekend. First time grandparents on both sides

I never got the big deal about gender reveal. As long as they are healthy, that's enough, even though lots of people get excited to find out if it's a boy or girl. Just not my thing. Congratulations. Grandkids are truly a wonderous joyful gift.

Every generation has their thing which they introduce to the world.

Gender Reveals are one of the contributions of this era.

Congratulations to the OP, continued blessings!

My wife and I were the same way. Her doctor told us that she could tell us the sex of the baby. We talked it over for the better part of two weeks before deciding that it just didn't matter to us. When our daughter was born, I looked at the doctor and said "Ten toes, ten fingers, right?"

She chuckled and said "Yes, she's perfectly healthy."

My daughter scored a 9 and 10, respectively, on her two Apgar tests. It's been almost 36 years since I've been in a delivery room. Do they still administer the Apgar test?

Everybody laughed when pop-icon Andy Warhol predicted "in the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes". Gender reveal. Who wooda thunk it?

Don't get me wrong. I would want to know the sex of the upcoming birth. I just don't see it as that important. It's not like I would be disappointed if it was a boy, or if it was a girl.

I honestly did not care, I have been waiting for so long for a grand baby I would have been just as excited if the baby was a boy. I wanted a healthy baby now that we know the baby is healthy I am so excited The baby is a girl and I am excited to get to buy for a girl because lets face it girls clothes are cuter

Congratulations. I'm sure she will be the most perfect grandbaby in the world.

update. Baby was born on Aug 1 she came 4 weeks early . Mimi( me) missed the birth since i live 1K miles away I was scheduled to fly out the 20th since she was being induced the 22nd but Adeline had her own timing . I had to fly out on the 2nd for a week then came back on the 20th to help for 2 more weeks since my daughter in law mom had to go back to work and so did my son. I came to help my daughter in law , she had a rough birth .. I am so in love with my grand daughter . Everyone says you love your kids but when you have your grandchild its just different kind of love and that is so true. So true we are looking at houses there. Not saying we are buying now because the market sucks but want to see where we want to live there and whats out there right now. This is when she was just a few weeks old. My son and daughter in law want very little out there on the internet but I have permission to post this picture . I cant blame them because of so many nut jobs out there .
