He could have received 15 years.

Considering his premeditation and lack of remorse, one would think several years would have been more appropriate.

That's really the key that makes him so disgusting, among his other traits. He claims a race crime, when in reality, he is deeply racist himself.

He hires Black actors for his crime, and reports that they are White Trump supporters. He is a pig.

They only made him pay a $120k fine. Chicago has a pending case to sue him for $130k in police OT payments, and with this conviction, the civil case should be much easier.

He should be up on federal hate crime charges.

It's an interesting thought, and it has been mentioned more than once in this thread.

But in order to be convicted of a hate crime based on current federal statutes, the act based upon race, color, sex, religion, etc. must either:

• injure or attempt to injure using a dangerous weapon (presumably, not oneself, ha).
• use force to interfere with housing rights
• deface, damage, or destruct religious real property
• interfere with a person's federally protected activity, such as public education, employment, jury service, travel, or the enjoyment of public accommodations
• or conspire to injure, threaten, or intimidate a person (presumably not oneself) in any state, territory, or district in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him or her by the Constitution or the laws of the U.S.

While Jussie is a racist pig, and his racism undoubtedly contributed to the crime he committed, it doesn't meet the current definition of a hate crime. Very similar to all of the false flag race-baiting crimes committed by others we've seen where a person of color writes some racist graffiti and then acts like a victim.

• The family say it's proof he is at risk even though he is in protective custody
