This lifestyle is compatible with solar panels (electric paddle-wheel drive, etc.) and is modular for transport. A complete system could be kept in storage until use.

Anna is right. Time perception changes, which we think is better than the class-difference line-up at the Titanic's dinner table. Those people had someone else prepare their dinner. Class difference even before talk of capitalism, socialism or communism.

The unit can be smaller and even more nomadic with possible foldable, inflatable, less bulky pontoons for transport and a much lighter material for the framing.
 
Expounding, if "an iceberg event" happens to a pontoon, you can carry at least three extra inflatable pontoons. The pontoon compartments are so that each one can be replaced separately if one hits "a sharp rock." In an emergency, all three spares can be used in a flying-V formation like geese, to get back to shore.

It's worth a try next summer: you roll the electric bike onto the raft and quickly hook up the paddle wheel and solar panels. We posted this last year:
