Just 5 minor banks and 3 billionaires. None of whom live in the UK. Of course the tory party is mainly funded by dirty russian money so this is no shock. Johnson is csrying his corrupt policies on to the world stage.

Conservative corruption knows no bounds.

This is the sad reality, since the U.K is only responsible for 3% of their oil exports.

Russia decided to link itself very close to China and it's worked very well for both of them. To the point, that they don't care nearly as much about the Nordstream as we might think.

WW3 could be on the way, especially if Russia and China both decide to act in unison. All those who armed the enemy should be on the front line fighting it.

I doubt Western billionaires have it in them...

Ruskies are soooooo fearful of "sanctions".....

What could Britain do more, really? Basically, all sanctions against Russia doesn't make sense unless they impose embargo on their crude oil and natural gas exports. But that won't happen in the near future, because it is nowhere you can get such volumes from.

UK is run by the Prince of Gog and Magog. The UK is circling the drain with USA.

The UKs Defence Secretary said, what can they do:

---------
Wallace said the UK has 1,000 personnel on stand-by to respond to the crisis, adding: “The Scots Guards kicked the backside of Tsar Nicholas I in 1853 in Crimea – we can always do it again.”

He continued: “Tsar Nicholas I made the same mistake Putin did, he had no friends, no alliances.”
------------

The Catch 1 is that Scots Guards arrived to Crimea only in 1854, and in 1853 they were in Britain

The Catch 2 is
---------
The Guards lost 425 killed and four times that number from sickness and when reviewed by Queen Victoria at Aldershot she was shocked at the state of them and commented ‘they were quite broken down’. This action was the last time any Guards Colours were taken into action.
-------------------

They can try to repeat. But what is much more likely - the Russians will just nuke their HMNB Clyde, eliminating 2/3 of their nuclear arsenal and those "brave warriors" will be asking "dirty Septics" to protect them from those "evil Russians".

And? If I remember correctly, the Russians lost the Crimean War.

Western Europe is pure cowardice. No one is surprised. :(

It was a limited war. Both sides didn't achieved their pre-war goals, but yes, Russia lost 15 years to recuperate consequences of the war and to raise Prussia as a counterweight to Anglo-French union. Russian goals were achieved later - Crimea is Russian, Black Sea dominated by the Russians, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Moldavia are independent, Austria is neutral.

Are you talking about the present times? Look around and see that the Russian sphere of influence in Europe never was so small as it is now since maybe the 17th century.

First: why do you think, that the Russians are interested in the influence in Europe? All they want there is a military safety. And right now there are no a European state or their coalition that can really treats Russia with a major war.
Second: Who said, that Russian influence must be demonstrative - with flags, marching columns, monument etc..?
Third: The Russians are pretty influential were it brings them money - Africa, Asia, America.

Because look at their history. They have always been expansionists. Also, I am sure that Putin's clique views Russia as a global power with its own sphere of 'national interests'.

Such coalition exists. Just a major 'European' country happens to be on another continent. That is the coalition to whom they addressed their awkward demands.

What makes Moscow more influential - raising flags in Kiev and Warsaw or manipulating state leaders in Washington and Beijing? What can bring them more money - amber from Ukraine and coal from Poland or diamonds from CAR, oil from Venezuela and uranium from Australia?

Right now NATO can't attack Russia first. May be, NATO won't be able even defend its own members in the case of a limited Russian aggression.
