Johnson, backing Trump's LA actions, says Newsom should be 'tarred and feathered'

Considering the tar was applied hot, I don't think you can say it was a "non-violent" punishment. My guess second degree burns would be certain and third possible over large portions of the punishee's body.

My understanding is that it was a quite painful version of vigilante Justice.

I wouldn't think 3rd degree. I have never heard of such an event leading to death.

To be clear, I am saying that sometimes, if law adn order are absent from society, vigilante justice is called for and better than letting violent criminals terrorize society.

Assholes like Newsome.

When removing "tar and feathering" it is common to peel the skin of the body. I worked in ICU, I have treated burn victims. I know.

We are only too happy to arrest and JAIL Democrats while we kick filthy illegals the F out of our country. Democrats, please make your way to the nearest 'protest' for processing and fingerprints.
Due process, thanks

Governor Newsom has the Constitution on his side. Johnson knows that, but is an asskissing little POS. Trump and the GOP have done all they can to start violence, and it looks as if they have succeeded. Now Trump is screeching about what he is going to do to anyone protesting his fascist birthday parade. There will be millions protesting that travesty all over the US. 50501
Hey look, how weird, a Portland Oregonian sides with Newsom…hahaha…Libs can’t get out of their own way.

Remember, Newsom gave blm thugs a pass to loot and riot. I am not shocked that he signed off again.

Newsom is a TRAITOR who has allied with foreign invaders against the U.S.A., why hasn't he been arrested and tossed in a cell???

Last summer of love, dozens of people died.

You might want to think this shit though a bit better.

Can you believe it? Talk about "escalation" Something has to give, and when it does, this one could get ugly. First it is "lock him up"
now this? If this turns into the 2025 Summer of Love I know who is to blame.

"Look, that's not my lane. I'm not going to give you legal analysis on whether Gavin Newsom should be arrested, but he ought to be tarred and feathered," the speaker said.

He's talking like you Progs. Are you savoring it? Enjoy it. Understand the intent. Very few Progs have decided to take it back a step or two even since the election. Its "damn the torpedoes-full speed ahead "with them. Newsom toys with citizens. He is spoiled richer man. The peons are nothing but props to be used for his photo shoots. Progs in California that took power seem to be locusts that have trampled on the state after the ants built it over a long time. The free money that imports trade from East Asia brings to their ports keeps them able to do their crazy experiments.

this is about Mike Johnson and his ugly rhetoric "tarred and feathered."

This guy Johnson has an interesting background indeed. I do hope he will love the Whites until the end of time! lol. :)

👉 Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House from Louisiana and a strong supporter of Donald Trump, has not been directly proven to be a racist in the sense of explicit racial slurs or overt personal racist actions.

However, multiple credible sources and civil rights organizations have raised serious concerns about his rhetoric and political positions, which many characterize as xenophobic and aligned with far-right, racially charged conspiracy theories.

Key points include:

• Johnson has engaged in xenophobic rhetoric, particularly regarding immigration. He has expressed concerns about immigrants "not fitting into" the national identity and warned against "flooding" the country, language that echoes the white nationalist "great replacement theory," a racist conspiracy that claims people of color are replacing white Americans. This theory is widely discredited but was promoted by Johnson during a 2024 Republican National Convention speech 16.

• Hate groups and extremist organizations have praised Johnson’s election as Speaker, indicating that his views resonate with far-right factions known for racist and xenophobic ideologies 1.

• Johnson wrote the foreword for a 2022 book that spread baseless conspiracy theories, including the "Pizzagate" hoax, and contained homophobic and racist passages. He has publicly endorsed this book and its author, further associating himself with extremist narratives 3.

• While Johnson defended Louisiana Rep. Clay Higgins, who made racist comments about Haitians, Johnson’s defense of Higgins as a "dear friend" and his framing of Higgins’ apology as sufficient have drawn criticism for downplaying the severity of racist remarks within his circle 5.

• Johnson’s rhetoric and political stance align with a hard-right agenda that often overlaps with racial and ethnic exclusionary views, though he has not been documented making overtly racist personal statements.

In conclusion, while there is no direct evidence that Mike Johnson has personally used explicitly racist language, his public statements, affiliations, and promotion of conspiracy theories with racist and xenophobic undertones have led civil rights groups and critics to label his political stance as promoting or enabling racism. This association with far-right, racially charged rhetoric and groups is the basis for the claim that Johnson supports or is linked to racist ideas 136.
