John Deere faces farmer boycott after laying off 2,100 US workers while moving work to Mexico

Greed ruining great American corporations is the most visible symbol of what is wrong with this country, but you don't see all the corporations who have set up shop in China and have turned an uneducated, peasant nation of over a billion people into a first world superpower and the greatest geopolitical threat America faces.
Epitaph on the Economy's Tombstone: TO GET A GOOD JOB, GET A GOOD EDUCATION

How about incompetence? Sucking their thumbs in college classrooms turned their minds into drool.

Deere like a lot of other manufacturers have used the proprietary and intellectual rights laws to prevent farmers and owners from diagnosing and maintaining and repairing their own equipment they have purchased. Car dealers are doing this too, and this is effectively creating a monopoly on service, and farmers don't have the profit margin to play that game for long, the rise in price will be added to your grocery bill. You won't find a more loyal customer base than farmers, but you can make a butterfly bite you if you fuck with it enough. How the government has in the past protected farmers and dairy from exploitation by corporations has been price controls and subsidy, again, cost shifting to your tax base. Farmers don't write laws, corporate lawyers write them and Congress signs them.

I saw the contract that they signed, it was the best union contract I ever saw. I had a lot of respect for Deere after seeing what the workers actually got, and now I see it was all part of their plan to end the strike and fast track getting out of the country.

Half of the U.S. will blame John Deere, and half of this country will blame the union.

The employees should seize the company for this economic treason. They certainly can run it better than the absentee stockholders.
