Gov tax revenue was 2.47 trillion.

So the debt that year added to the National debt was 1/2 trillion dollars.

Today

National debt is 35.7 trillion dollars.
Gov Spending is 7 trillion dollars.
Gov tax Revenue is 4.9 trillion dollars.

The debt this year, will be well over 2 trillion dollars. All thanks to Harris/Biden and their two wars, illegals and FEMA and other projects like EV fails.

If the United States went back to the 2008 model of government spending at 3.25 trillion while taking in 4.9 trillion, that would be a net plus 1.35 trillion dollars that could pay down the debt and the US would be debt free in roughly 20 years.
