Furious farmers have threatened to stop buying John Deere tractors.

The 187-year-old firm - the leading manufacturer of agricultural machinery - said on Wednesday it is laying off even more workers.

The nearly 300 layoffs in Iowa and Illinois take the total this year to around 2,100.

At the same time, Deere is moving more of its tractor and farming gear manufacturing to Mexico.

I'd boycott the Joe Stalin tractor company (Juan Deere) because they are too expensive and one owner controls all the dealers for 100 miles. Non compete clauses between the stores on new items. Bunch of commies.

From the same asshole company that perpetually lobbies to make it illegal to service your own equipment too....I hope Trump tariffs the fuck out of them.

Deere executives claim the layoffs are due to a dip in demand from farmers grappling with lower crop prices. However, some workers see it differently. One employee, remaining anonymous for fear of backlash, summed up the feeling on the ground: “The only reason for Deere to do this is greed.” The sentiment follows Deere’s recent profits of over $10 billion in 2023 and a CEO compensation package topping $26.7 million. Former President Donald Trump, eyeing the relocation plans, has threatened a hefty 200% tariff on Deere’s imports if they proceed with manufacturing shifts abroad.

These companies are moving to other countries for tax breaks and lower wage workers.

Ross Perot told us that sucking sound will be jobs going to Mexico when they were passing NAFTA, and he was right. He got 20% of the votes in a 3rd party, but the media ridiculed him so that was that. Now the USMCA promises even more of that, but again. we are all assed up on abortion for this cycle, so guess what? The "failed" North American Union is just sleeping, while the public is mesmerized with Diddy. Agreement between the United States of America, the United Mexican States, and Canada 7/1/20 Text

Greed ruining great American corporations is the most visible symbol of what is wrong with this country, but you don't see all the corporations who have set up shop in China and have turned an uneducated, peasant nation of over a billion people into a first world superpower and the greatest geopolitical threat America faces.

And because the govt. builds the infrastructure for them at taxpayers' expense, via USAID and other corporate welfare subsidies. We built the maquilas in Mexico, the power plants, roads, sewer systems, etc.

After they get up and running down there the Mexican govt. starts shaking them down and their profits begin shrinking again. But the CEOs who make these deals are usually gone by then, living high on all the bonuses, golden parachutes, and payoffs they got for doing the deals, which of course makes the right wingers happy as all get out.

My experience with anything green and yellow has been negative. I wouldn't buy a JD on a bet.

John Deere workers sign an excellent contract after a brief strike, and sure enough, it was all done to buy time so they could move to Mexico after they had their most profitable years in their almost two century history.
Muthafukkers....they were doing just fine....didn't need cheaper labor.

I saw the contract that they signed, it was the best union contract I ever saw. I had a lot of respect for Deere after seeing what the workers actually got, and now I see it was all part of their plan to end the strike and fast track getting out of the country.

Half of the U.S. will blame John Deere, and half of this country will blame the union.

Unions aren't always angels but this was an easy one to judge. I hope they get tariffed up the ass.

Kubota....love them
Er...
Engines are not made in the US. Further,
Kubota tractors originated in Japan, but they have manufacturing facilities in various locations around the globe. Most of the Kubota tractors sold in the U.S. are manufactured in Gainesville, Georgia, while the bigger series are manufactured in Japan but assembled in Jefferson.
