Joe signs massive

I am reminded of something I read years ago. In his first visit to the pentagon a new president is shown to a conference room where the generals play a tape without comment. They still have VHS for some reason. It seems to be the Kennedy assassination from an entirely different angle. The generals all stand up and say "Do we have an understanding"?

Would not surprise me one bit

This from the great Murray Rothbard…

In short, war is inseparable from propaganda, lies, hatred, impoverishment, cultural degradation, and moral corruption. It is the most horrific outcome of the moral and political legitimacy people are taught to grant the state. Wrapped in the trappings of patriotism, home, songs, and flags, the state deludes people into despising a leader and a country that until that point they had barely even heard of, much less had an informed opinion about, and it teaches its subjects to cheer the maiming and death of fellow human beings who have never done them any harm.

War is the worst thing any nation can impose. Unfortunately many Americans aren’t aware of this.

The irony is that most likely, war is the only cure.

Republican or Democrat, defense spending seems to be automatic. That is a function of military contracting and manufacturing companies leaning on politicians to automatically write the check..no questions asked. Example of the power of the military-industrial complex?...after more than a decade, still no promised audit of the DOD and Pentagon. Because if it ever saw the light of day, you'd get to see every stupid-assed funded project of an outdated or outmoded technology still in production at your local defense contractor because it's "vital" to national defense....sure. Whatever. Meanwhile, continue to underpay the men and women these corporations and politicians ask to go fight their battles to maintain their profits, while out of the other side of their mouths, cut the funding out from underneath the VA and other services that veterans depend on.

"Something" might happen...to his melon if he doesn't comply. The POTUS is a stooge king set up by conquerors a la the vikings in the British islands.
Nothing so dramatic as that. No need. A lot of jobs are tied up in the defense industry as well is big donors to both parties. Mainly no president will ever allow themselves to be seen as soft on defense.

Ah. Right.

It's anytime somebody wants to fuck with the FederalReserve/fiat currency with never-ending debt to private entities that heads get blown off.

General Milley talks to foreign adversaries like China on his own, telling them he has the President under control and even brags to us about it in books he sells for millions of dollars

Yes, he runs the country.

The BIG question is.........

WHOSE country are they protecting???

It sure as hell isn't the USA!!!!

But I guess we all know the answer.....

The sad part is, judging from how the generals handled Afghanistan, they can't even run a military effectively. They have become inept politicians like we see in DC every day

It reminds me of how Abraham Lincoln went through like 3 or 4 generals before he found one that could do the job. But with the generals running the show, I reckon that will never happen again as we will just stay with the inept generals.

The great Mises on war.

The market economy,” Mises said simply, “means peaceful cooperation and peaceful exchange of goods and services. It cannot persist when wholesale killing is the order of the day.”

Those who believe in the free and unhampered market economy should be especially skeptical of war and military action. War, after all, is the ultimate government program. War has it all: propaganda, censorship, spying, crony contracts, money printing, skyrocketing spending, debt creation, central planning, hubris – everything we associate with the worst interventions into the economy.

“War,” Mises observed, “is harmful, not only to the conquered but to the conqueror. Society has arisen out of the works of peace; the essence of society is peacemaking. Peace and not war is the father of all things. Only economic action has created the wealth around us; labor, not the profession of arms, brings happiness. Peace builds; war destroys.”

peace builds war destroys! Americans used to know this. Not anymore.

Republicans claim to be the party of fiscal responsibility. However, when they are in power they are just as fically irresponsible as the Democrats.

The Democrats claim to be the party of peace. However, when they are in power they are just as much interventionists as the Republicans. Remember they started WWI, WWII, The Cold War, Korea, Vietnam and several other interventions after that. Joe Potatohead voted for the invasion of Iraq and was VP when the Afghanistan war was escalated.

War is not always bad, at least, for the people of South Korea

When you are fighting such abject evil as you are in fighting the aggression of North Korea, it is a good thing, at least, for the people of Korea.

But you are correct in that usually war is bad all the way around. Government is the only entity that can organize mass killings, whether it be war or genocide, yet all people talk about it taking guns away from private citizens?

Put another way, traditionally the GOP has complained about government expansion at home but supports government expansion abroad as where the DNC complains about government expansion abroad but expands government at home.

At the end of the day with both running things is massive government expansion at home and abroad. They both created this Frankenstein as it will naturally want to control everything.
