I'm sure Taiwan has more than enough capability to sink any ships coming over from the mainland. That would make invasion very difficult for China but I think the one real threat would be if Communist China has been planting operatives inside of Taiwan. I think if an invasion were to happen it would coincide with

There are only about a dozen beaches suitable for landing and those beaches are mined and access off those beaches through mountainous passages are heavily defended

1. The sanctions on Russia are NOT crippling. Xiden's war on US energy has the prices of oil and gas sky-high. Putin has a ton of cash. The ruble is very strong.
2. Xiden's withdrawal from AFG was a catastrophe. No amount of <<<<spin>>>> will change that.
3. Xiden needs the rest of NATO to kick in military supplies to Ukraine. So far the US is providing ~90% of the aid.

But the reality is, they need Taiwan economically and they don't have the military capability to invade.

China hasn’t fought a war in 70 years. They have never conducted amphibious warfare let alone an invasion over 100 miles of ocean.

Look how well Russia did when they massed their tanks at the border of Ukraine. And that was a land invasion at their own border.
