Joe Biden Turns The Tables On Republicans During National Address

Why then does it seem like Republicans suddenly can't land a glove on Biden?

For decades, Republicans have increasingly abandoned policy debate in favor of culture war antics, race-baiting and raw tribalism. From Monica Lewinsky to Barack Obama's birth certificate, the modern GOP has turned politics into conflicts about personality and identity, not policy.

Republicans are grumpy, extremely grumpy. Republican Senators watching the speech last night collectively looked like they smelled a fart, and not just because they were wearing masks. They're mad, not just because they know he's right. They're mad because they know he's popular and what he's saying is popular. They'll block as much of his agenda as they can and hope that voter suppression and gerrymandering do the rest. But on the merits of the argument itself? They're toast.

Biden knows these guys like the back of his hand, and playing them like a fiddle. He knows exactly how Republicans are going to respond, and he doesn't have to say anything to them. He just has to talk to the voters, and then let the voters watch Republicans stumble with worn out talking points that aren't connecting with them anymore. If the Trump base is all Republicans have now, the author is right. They're toast.
Worst thing Biden can do is sink down to the level of Republicans and wrestle in the mud.

He just goes about his agenda with or without them
They've forgotten to recognize the adult in the room.
The adult in the room that can't tell his wife from his sister? :boobies:

You are confused

It was Trump who couldn’t tell his wife from his daughter Ivanka
Your incest comments can include Biden showering with his daughter. God knows what Hunter did to her.
Hunter Biden is not President
Joe shouldn't shower with his daughter. Next.

I would like to draw attention to one of the remarks made by the article writer (not to be confused with journalists) of the OP: "Snap polls after the speech showed that 85% of viewers approved of Biden's speech, out of a crowd that was only 54% Democratic."

Okay, question to all fellow independents (of various persuasions) which one of you gave a positive poll result following hearing Biden's lines he read? How about anyone who isn't a Democratic who gave a positive review to these myseterious pollsters? Surely, there is at least one poster in here who isn't self-labeled Dem....ohhhh wait. Socialists! The socialist supporters who label themselves as leftists were polled, but were not identified as such to make the poll results sound like all kinds of Independents were reponding positively lol I really do miss the easy stuff;P

I would really like to know how that poll was conducted....naw nevermind....polls had it that Hillary was a shoe-in win! This stat about 85% approval would not seem suspect had the article writer left out the part about "only 54% Democrat. Right! lol

I have been a registered Independent since 1978.

I’ve voted a variety of parties through the years.

Biden was my second to last choice for president in the election.

I wasn’t polled but if I had been, I would have been among the 85%.
Dana, thanks for your reply. I've been under the false impression that, from reading your posts, that you were on the left in full support of Dem policies, past and present. Just goes to show that political labels are worthless and should be scrapped. At this "late date" not a chance to oust the labeling. Too bad. A better set up would have been to keep it at an individual response to voting for candidates who do not have to be a member of the millionaires club...soon to be billionaires.

Labeling causes diversity. When people say that labels are unifying, they are referencing low rung level type of group think land. I'm not claiming all Reps or all Dems are needy, I just see it sometimes among the ranks on both sides. IMO there should be no sides and definitely not a one government for all approach. I can relate to group think and have been there many a time, on various sports teams and talking politics. I try to avoid it when I can for my own sake of evolving. Sure, it's comfortable and the norm for us imperfect humans to join a group, make close friends who think like you do, all of the pluses, but the minuses like not allowing for any other info to be considered except what's been agreed upon in bulk...they count just as much.

Oh, and Biden was never a choice I would have made, even before his mental downturn.

And his fake teeth are 3 times to big for his mouth. He looks like a clown.

Wait for it...Biden looks like the Sham wow guy. lol

Didn't he like little girls too?

To land a glove on Biden, and knock him out, all one has to do is look at his immigration catastrophe. This lunatic is allowing the whole 3rd world to come surging across our border, and then busing & flying them to red states (to turn them blue)

In his desperation quest for VOTES, he is spreading Covid all over the country, along with other foreign diseases, which will kill millions of Americans over time. In addition, this madman is going to make the AMERICAN unemployment rate above 80%, as illegal aliens flood the country, and employers fire Americans to hire the low wage illegals.

On top of all that, Latin American men are notorious sex criminals (Trump was right) and notorious setters of wildfires.

Can't land a glove on Biden? You could land an atomic bomb on him.

Biden has always been the biggest douchebag in Washington.

Does anyone know why Joe wears a mask for phone conferences and then none at all when everyone else has their masks on?
Libs are attempting to keep the spirit of pandemic alive by marching in lockstep on the mask issue

the longer they can keep the nation in hysteria and in lockdown the better it is for their proposed one-party dictatorship

No the worst thing he can do is to keep doing what he's doing. He made a clusterfuck of the border, a border Trump had handled very well.

He kicked every American tax payer in the teeth on day one. Dumped 11,000 in the UE lines. He banned drilling for oil and natural gas on Fed lands. He will do away with fracking. We tax payers will be paying up the ass or gas.

No telling how his green shit will pan out. You keep lying to yourself. You are very good at it. Even you should be able to see what an incompetent ass the guy YOU voted for is.
