All of this appears conveniently timed. Furthermore, after Trump announced the $2000 checks from tariffs his adversaries really went into overdrive. Not only does this provide support from citizens for the tariffs but it would also improve his chances in the midterms.

He is going to have to try and find the means to decrease costs, which is difficult to do with the massive deficit he took on. He also is going to have to try and reclaim the lost youth vote, this requires some creativity and getting away from red meat.
