i don't think so while they are active. it says during court proceedings - which is after any investigations are over.

Who monitors or oversees the FBI?

The FBI’s activities are closely and regularly scrutinized by a variety of entities. Congress—through several oversight committees in the Senate and House—reviews the FBI’s budget appropriations, programs, and selected investigations. The results of FBI investigations are often reviewed by the judicial system during court proceedings. Within the U.S. Department of Justice, the FBI is responsible to the attorney general, and it reports its findings to U.S. Attorneys across the country. The FBI’s intelligence activities are overseen by the Director of National Intelligence.

So they don’t have to answer to elected officials? Seems fishy

Because then the Congresspersons would drop it.
Joe Rogan is harping in it. Not Congresspersons. Even if they were, these Congresspersons aren’t so easily appeased. They have little problem latching onto nonsense when it serves them. Appeasement is a limited solution.

Lastly, the DoJ has no duty to inform Congress on their every move, especially when it comes to ongoing investigations.

Demanding the executive branch be respondent to all inquiry from Congress has a pretty rich irony.

Then why is there a Judiciary Committee in Congress?

the DOJ/FBI falls under the executive branch & congress is the legislative branch.

they are separate entities
I get that but they are allowed to check one another. Hence we have checks and balances. Why else would Garland appear before Congress?

Yeah. For a thread about “truth” this one has almost none. Now you’re just hemming and hawing about Congressional committee authority (which has been thoroughly trashed by recent standards)
The video embedded in the OP literally says “truth”
