For years, Trump has accused investigations and probes into him as politically motivated "witch hunts." The former president has also suggested the classified documents search at his home is a sign that the Biden administration has "weaponized" the federal government.

During the June 2022 FBI visit to his Florida home, Trump's legal team is alleged to have "explicitly prohibited" federal agents from looking inside a storage room at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump's lawyers then drafted and signed a statement assuring federal investigators that all the classified materials at Mar-a-Lago had been returned.

They did not say, "Trump is refusing to return the following records..." They said in effect, "we cannot be sure Trump turned over all the records so we are going to send in heavily armed agents with shoot to kill orders to rifle Trump family bedrooms to see if we can find anyrthing."

Biden was president and could not be prosecuted. The fact that he had a special prosecutor investigate and sat for a deposition is more than Trump would have ever allowed.

Trump was president with the authority to declassify documents. Biden had never been president, so he never had any authority to declassify the secret documents he was keeping in unsecured locations all over the place.

They had to go get a search warrant.
