Jailed in Tennessee after quoting Trump...

your side thinks actually shooting people like Kirk and that healthcare exec aren't violence.
Which high profile Democrat(s) came out and said that?

How many of the New Republicans are okay with joking about the attempted assassination of the Speaker of the House and the cracked skull her husband received in that brutal attack. Not just the President , or the late Mr. Kirk, but once normal caring everyday Americans? What %, 60%, 70% or more?

I said side, and nice goalpost move attempt.

The Speaker wasn't at the House, and that whole think still reeks like your old underwear.

I'm withholding judgment on this one until we have more than the scarce information that we have.

If there isn't any more to this story, I agree that the arrest is most likely unwarranted. But I suspect there is more to the story.

I guess we'll find out.

A bit more information here. Article says if Bushart had just deleted the meme and hadn't refused to talk to the police who visited him at his house, he probably would not have been arrested. But his actions increased the suspicions/perceptions.

The judge apparently thought it serious enough to order a $2 million bond which Bushart was unable to raise so he stayed in jail.
I understand. But if it wasn’t a threat, and it sure doesn’t appear to be a threat, he had no reason to agree to delete the meme. And unless he told the local authorities that he intended it as a threat (which I seriously doubt) then they still shouldn’t have been able to secure a warrant.

It is possible I am missing something. But from what I have seen, this is a fairly egregious violation of the 1st Amendment.

It's the $2 million bond that raised my eyebrows actually. That makes me believe there could have been more in the charges than what the media is reporting. You don't get a bond like that unless it's something pretty serious.

So, again, I'm reserving judgment myself until I know more of the story than what I've seen so far.

Nice defense of the New Republican ideal of baseless, sick jokes used against victims of political violence on my side. So You're saying over 70% I suppose.

Your defense is that some radical nuts jobs represent my side. But the things the leaders of the Neo-GOP do and say aren't representative of the New Republicans.

Don't post shit on FB thinking you are insulated from retribution. What was this idiot thinking?

It has been used as a punch line by The Dirty Don and the recently assassinated Mr. Kirk.

AI says....to [republicans who made fun of pelosi attack]

"Republicans who have publicly made light of or spread falsehoods about the 2022 hammer attack on Paul Pelosi include Donald Trump, Kari Lake, Glenn Youngkin, Donald Trump Jr., Clay Higgins, and Marjorie Taylor Greene. "

And then it lists specific examples

I think it's this one they're using. But the sheriff implied the offence was because people were taking it as a threat, not that it actually was one. Much like the modding on this bored, actually.

Do you have any links to support this besides that AI crap?

I’m not seeing the threat. It’s a stupid post with false equivalency. but that isn’t illegal.

I also don’t care when politicians say they are targeting an opponent but I am pretty reasonable, so I can see how some see it.

The Sherrif is saying he is inciting violence with this post. He is saying that he is inciting someone to mass shoot up Perry High School...

He is has spent a month in jail already for this meme... $2m bond...

He was only reposting it by the way...

Trump did say this?

After the Iowa school shooting...

Dang, perhaps you should get together for margaritas.

AI makes good summaries. But can give out information that is contrary to known reality if asked the right question. Who said what and when is not one of those. Of course nearly everything is recorded these day so yeah plenty of links out there to prove who said what.

I guess that's a no.
