Jailed in Tennessee after quoting Trump...

It's not only about the post with the Trump meme. It was a series of posts culminating in a meme about a school shooting which many construed as a veiled threat.

And even after he was informed that the sheriff was getting calls about it, he left it up anyways. The prosecution can use that fact as evidence that he was aware that his posts were being construed as a threat by the public.

However, I haven't actually read their new law that he is being charged with violating. So I can't say how relevant that is regarding his guilt/innocence.
No rational person would see that meme as threatening.

If it were for an actual “threat,” it might be closer to justifiable.

But for the love of God, memes are rarely threats and this one doesn’t appear to have been a threat of any kind.

And holding him in jail as long as this only gives him a bigger payday when he sues all who had a hand in this ridiculous behavior.
I'm withholding judgment on this one until we have more than the scarce information that we have.

If there isn't any more to this story, I agree that the arrest is most likely unwarranted. But I suspect there is more to the story.

I guess we'll find out.

A bit more information here. Article says if Bushart had just deleted the meme and hadn't refused to talk to the police who visited him at his house, he probably would not have been arrested. But his actions increased the suspicions/perceptions.

The judge apparently thought it serious enough to order a $2 million bond which Bushart was unable to raise so he stayed in jail.

Getting so sick & twisted,
Any one interested in the truth, The whole truth, nothing but the truth, so help you God.

You know what else Trump said in that speech?

“TERRIBLE SCHOOL”

Omg! He said the school is TERRIBLE!!

WHAT A JERK TO CRITICIZE THE SCHOOL!!

🤡🤡🤡

Did you even read the post that you responded to?

WTF?

I just informed you that it was not exclusively about that single post. Are you ******* dense?

If you cannot imagine a slew of different scenarios in which a series of posts culminating in a meme about a school shooting could reasonably be construed as a threat, then you're just too stupid to get it, I guess.

Low IQ = lack of imagination.

THINK!

Great. You've now realized your whole "there's more than just a meme" was bullshit.

Yep, simple confusion by people who are too stupid to figure out there's more than one placed called Perry in the universe. It's absolutely idiotic to arrest someone for this.

I want to see the rest of the discussion. Sorry, but I don't trust you lefty ***** as far as I can throw you.

The sheriff already said it was the meme that resulted in the arrest and charges.

The sheriff already said the other posts were offensive (I agree, it was all offensive), but protected speech.

There's not more to the story. You're just a hack who doesn't want to believe anything that doesn't fit your narrative.

Actually the guy making the posts admitted they were offensive.

There is more to the story, and as usual you misread what you are referencing.

No shit they were offensive.

Offensive posts are still protected speech. It doesn’t matter if a bunch of hysterical Karens feel differently.

THIK!

You're asking a person without a brain to think... lol

Of course they are, the problem here seems to be a law passed in Tennessee protecting schools from threats of violence.

Pretty sure all threats of violence are illegal.

The problem is that it’s not a threat of violence.

The actual arrest was for threatening violence towards a public school. but of course your post glosses over that.

From the local news station

MSN

A statement from the local Sheriff:

I saw right through it almost instantly.

It's typical of the left to think what is presented in the OP is the whole story.

They always think that.

I thought that way at first until I realized that nine times out of ten there's typically more to the story and it appears that the Trump meme wasn't the cause of his arrest. They assumed that he was talking about their school and shooting it up after a series of other posts.

15th post
Nope...

Ye are the guys who are all about **** your feelings...

This is one of the most trumped up charge seen yet...

Are you happy for Conservatives to be arrested for such frivolous case?
Progressives have destroyed people for their political leanings. You let other Progressives to physically attack those people also and they have gotten away with it. It is good if it becomes a two-way street now. Of course, the Progs can stop this on their end, before all of those criminal laws that are enacted turn us into a police state. There may be even people who are tired of this and want a police state for peace.

If all they have is that meme then the Sheriff should be removed from his office for obvious Malicious prosecution of a politically inspired meme. Had the dude made other, you know, real threats, against the school or community?

First shot across the bow in the "Great Meme War" of the 21st Century. Remember Kids, Mean Memes Kill!

I actually agree with you, but I can already pretty much guarantee you that that isn't the case.
