Jack Smith tells Congress he wants to testify publicly

There won't be one. Court is not a place where trumples get to lie without consequence. Making a case against Smith impossible to pursue with success.
Smith just sold his home at a huge profit. He better hope there were no shenanigans involved in that sale.

Not to mention in the original mortgage application. I would be surprised if a guy that lies as much as Jack Smith does suddenly was truthful in his own personal finances.

But of course, if he is innocent, he has nothing to worry about! He can use the massive profits from that home sale to defend himself.

I would be all for it as long as he does it under oath and he commits to not taking the fifth and answering every question posed to him in its entirety. If he doesn't, he's just playing to the media.
From what I saw, those GOP senators will be ripping Jack Smith apart for his illegal spying on them.

Of course. Jack Smith doesn't want that to happen in public. He's bluffing obviously.

IMHO, Jordan is grandstanding. He ain't going to get shit from Smith, he's a lawyer, right? Lawyers know how to talk all day disparaging somebody (Trump in this case) without incriminating himself. Jordan and the GOP would be nuts to give him a public forum.

Some might say that Smith started this when he went after Trump. It was a victimless charge that wouldn't have been brought if Trump had not run for re-election last year. It was political lawfare and now we see tit for tat. It was bullshit then and it's bullshit now, nothing more than partisan politics that isn't going to change any minds.
Not sure you can really claim Trump's charges were "victimless".

He was charged with mishandling and hiding classified documents. That's a threat to national security. Not exactly "victimless".

He was charged with attempting to steal the 2020 election. That would victimize anyone who voted in the election.

This isn't grand jury testimony.

You are correct. The republicans should hire a movie director to edit things out. They should only allow republicans on the committee then only release what they choose to release.

Jack Smith has agreed to testify in front of Jordan's committee, but publicly. I believe another victim did this and they wouldn't hold a public hearing. This should be interesting.

Jack Smith tells Congress he wants to testify publicly

Former special counsel Jack Smith is asking that he be allowed to appear publicly after House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) demanded his testimony.

“Given the many mischaracterizations of Mr. Smith’s investigation into President Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents and role in attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election, Mr. Smith respectfully requests the opportunity to testify in open hearings before the House and Senate Judiciary Committees,” his attorneys wrote in a letter to Jordan.

Jordan requested a transcribed, closed-door interview with Smith earlier this month, accusing the former special counsel and his team team of launching “politically motivated prosecutions” into Trump and trying to “silence” him during the campaign.

Smith’s effort to appear publicly would require the blessing of the Justice Department, with his attorneys saying he would need guidance so he doesn’t violate any rules regarding grand jury secrecy. He would also likely be asked to answer questions about the Mar-a-Lago investigation. The special counsel’s final report on that case has not been released.

“He is prepared to answer questions about the Special Counsel’s investigation and prosecution, but requires assurance from the Department of Justice that he will not be punished for doing so,” Smith’s legal team said.
Thing is....it's not his House. **** him

Dem's welcome the opportunity to expose accusations of lawfare for the sham they are.
What legal reason did smith have to spy on sitting US Senators?

What legal reason did smith have to spy on sitting US Senators?
None, of course.

But Smith will use one of the standard excuses for not answering:

a. Ongoing investigation!
b. Law enforcement sensibilities.
c. Sources and methods.
d. Agency equities.

If it isn't a crime for a prosecutor to spy on Americans with no justification, it should be.

Smith is a private citizen. He has no standing. It’d have to come from the Trump administration. They haven’t petitioned the court.

So it makes no difference when it comes to his testimony.
Well it comes from Congress and they will when they have a date and time

I hope they do because I’d love to see all the grand jury material he released.

That said, SCOTUS prevented Congress from getting that material from the Mueller report in 2020 and so I bet SCOTUS won’t let anyone see it now.

Hopefully Smith stops grand standing and gives them a date

He doesn't really want to testify publicly. He wants the MSM to spin the testimony in his favor. Jack Smith is a liar and a lowlife. I even doubt that his name is really Jack Smith.

You and Trump are the liars and lowlife garbage. Republicans are the ones who want to lie about what he says. Testifying in public is like introducing the sunlight to a vampire.

Jack's track record is poor, he failed to convict Trump...his illegal scam on Bob McDonnell was exposed and that was overturned. He's really just not good at actually convicting anyone, he's only good at engaging in political hit jobs
How did Smith fail to convict Trump when the case never went to trial? SCOTUS gave Trump immunity. Smith had enough on Trump to put him away for 20 years which is the reason that Trump took his appeals all the way to SCOTUS who let him off the hook. And they did it because they're no better than he is. They KNEW he was gulity.

Um because it never went to trial

Duh

Jack couldn’t prove his case, that’s why it was dismissed. He had years to do it but couldn’t
He did not have years, he had a year....and a lot of delay delay delay delay delay with Trump and all his appeals to the court
