to be Amish.

I'm strangely drawn by their way of life and yes, even their clothes.

What's up with that?

Or maybe a Quaker. I find that whole bunch fascinating as well.

I think Quakers are in the modern world, lol...

They don't wear deodorant???? Are you sure? That might be a deal breaker, lol.

We have tons of them around here. You have to be careful. Confusing Amish with Mennonites leads to unhappy folks in front of you.

I would think twice about it if I was you.
Feds Sting Amish Farmer Selling Raw Milk Locally

Humans have been drinking raw milk of cows and goats, since the beginning of time and they are still around.
It's ridiculous. I drank raw milk all of the time when I was a kid on my Grandparents farm.

A few more years of this world-wide economic shit storm and we'll all be living like the Amish.

Turn off your air conditioning.

get up with the sun, work all day. Since you are a woman, you will be over the stove with only tap water to keep you cool.

repeat this year in and year out.

You can thank me later.

Tap water? Your Amish are cheating Two Thumbs.

They are probably preparing to go to the market. I know the Mennonites around here are pretty involved in the farmer's markets.
As for Quakers, I believe there are some who live the lifestyle and some who just attend church. There was a Poster here who was a Quaker. She drank alcohol and lived a modern life.

Honest, it just doesn't sound that bad to me.

Then practice it.

Turn the AC off on July first and don't turn it back on until the 31st.

Get up and cook 3 meals everyday. [if you work, take a sandwich for lunch]

Be prepared to do lots of laundry, by hand, b/c of all the sweat funk you and your family will have.

no tv, radio, phones, lights, etc.

no taking the car anywhere. use the bus, since you may not have a horse and buggy.

I have no idea. I would assume some kind of pipes are allowed since plumbing was around at the time of Jesus.

Sounds like life when I first moved out of my parents. Lol
We didn't have ac, I did manual labor all day at my job, and we for sure didn't watch much tv. We only got PBS and NBC. I never ate out and I either walked or took the bus every where. I was Also in the best shape of my life.
