Defend him? Condemn him? Criticize him? Say nothing? Republican leaders are finding it increasingly difficult to constantly tap-dance around the issues and the confusing antics of the Big Orange Idiot.
Ryan and McConnell hoped Big Orange would be easier to control as president than he was as a candidate, but they've been disappointed month after month.
After seven months of the Big Orange Idiot’s “winning”, the GOP’s agenda to screw average Americans to benefit the fat cats has been stalled. This is surprising, since they share the same goals as Big Orange.
Fortunately, there are just enough congressional Republicans who must face a moderate constituency, rather than voters devoted to extreme conservatism. The Obama administration guaranteed a veto for bills risky to these Republicans serving moderate majorities in their home districts. But, with the Big Orange Idiot in the White House, these moderate congressional Republicans are promised a loss in the 2018 mid-term elections if the toe the Republican Party line.
So, while moderate Republicans have an easy course to follow, for the time being, Republican leaders like Ryan and McConnell are forced to keep their dancing shoes handy. And, regardless of Big Orange’s antics-of-the-day, Ryan, McConnell, and other GOP strong-men don’t know, from day to day, whether to defend him, condemn him, criticize him, or say nothing.
Quite the political dilemma, and funny to watch.

Yes, the Big Orange Idiot IS a liar, and his cabinet can best be described as "scum". Both make the Republican leaders' political dilemma worse.
