It's about time it was said

I am quite unimpressed with Monday Morning Quarterbacks... They all saw the same intel and as our representatives, decided to go in... We trusted their decision and their intel...

These people are re-elected time and time again, so the people who put them back in their seats seem to be fine with these decisions....

No Monday morning quartering backing here. Said Bush and his intel were full of shit back then, say it now. Hell, I even said on 9-12 on messageboards that Bush would use this to invade Iraq - well **** me blind and call me a Soothsayer, if I wasn't right. If Bush was any easier to read....

So you think you are a soothsayer? take the obama blinders off and yuou can see a lot better.

we borrowed the money to run bush's pretend war of choice...

which led to our economic meltdown...

i think the president was more than nice to his predecessor.

I'm pretty sure that the soldiers coming home in body bags and their families don't think there is anything at all pretend about it.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to a poor choice of words.

Mommma don'tcha let yer little babies grow up to be...............................

In defense of Jillian, we all knew what she meant by "pretend war of choice" before she posted what she meant. No reason to twist what she said.
Right...It was the same "pretend war of choice" that the standard bearers for her preferred party had been spoiling for, since at least 1998.

But since it ended up being prosecuted by a dude with that (R) next to his name (not to mention a Senate tally that counted in its number 29 democrat "AYE" votes) , that fact gets jammed down the Memory Hole.
Actually...the Dems (Clinton, etc.) were bluffing Saddam with great success. Dubya never understood the value of a bluff, sadly.

It is a bad thing that Dems underestimated just how stupid Dubya was....

I am so proud of President Obama for finally ending Bush's war of agression. Finally honor has been restored to the White House. Too bad the right wing nuts can't accept the fact that Obama pulled Bush out of the fire.
 This deserves a thread of its own.

Are you talking about the pretend war that Congress gave the OK to.
Are you talking about the pretend funding of the war that Congress approved.
Are you talking about the pretend war that had at the time Senator Hillary Clinton supporting
Are you talking about the pretend war that showed Senator Kerry supporting.

As to our economic collapse, you may want to add the contribution of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae which is a big Democrat pet project that knowingly lent money to people who had no intention of making their payments....

Just wanna be clear about what we are talking about here.....:eusa_angel:

thank god you're here!

no one could remember any of those points in the first 204 posts.

I think the re-electing the people who you readily admit fucked up displays the left as they loons they are...

like you guys voting for bush twice?

still better than the alternatives?

who should replace chuck schumer? some rightwingnut tea party loon?

no thanks.

Party first, eh comrade?

comrade? really? sorry... jilly don't play dat.

i happen to like my old boss. :)

stop putting up extremist loons... i've been known to vote republican. might have even voted for mccain had he made a sane VP choice.

I never fully understood why Iraq was the next choice after routing the Taliban from their state sponsorship in Afghanistan.Since it would be difficult to prosecute a war against the Saudis, I thought that there would be a massive covert campaign to assassinate the money sponsors behind AQ.

Dubya was not a stupid man (and if you believe he was, then Obama is simply a retard and Biden should be committed), I thought that there was something we weren't being told about why Iraq was next, maybe they had state sponsorship from the Russians and/or Chinese and that could not be disclosed without escalating the conflict.

It was possible, but again it might be total disinformation, that the West Nile Outbreak was an Iraqi Sponsored Bioweapons attack and we took out Saddam much later in response.

We'll never know.

Its always easy to borrow $1 Trillion for a trumped up war that killed 4400 soldiers and injured tens of thousands.

Ask for money to provide healthcare for American Citizens and the rightwing screams poverty

The Bluff may have worked, as Saddam did offer to leave before "Shock and Aweshit" took place, but I do believe that you credit their motivation with too much brilliance. It was craven self-interest that made them act as they did. It was an election year, after all, and none of them wanted to appear unpatriotic. Remember, the message from the WH was all "for or agin us," and the whisper campaigns (rather loud and far reaching ones) by secondary (and less accountable) supporters was that those who questioned or opposed the policy were traitors. They didn't act with foresight knowing that the bluff would work: the bluff was on them, and they folded like a cheap tent. Pussies, each and every one.

No, but what's your point?

The purpose was to find out whether or not it was there.

I sleep better knowing it isn't, which hasn't made up for a few sleepless nights wondering if their incompetence has destroyed the economy, but its better than nothing.

No, the purpose was to enforce UN resolution 1441, which Saddam was found to be in material non compliance of.
Look at the legislation passed authorizing the war and you can see what the goals were. We accomplished every single one of them.
The left wing lie about Bush is credible only to those heavily invested in the Democratic Party and those with fewer than 3 functioning brain cells. In the case of some people here those are not mutually exclusive.
