Stumbled into this when fooling about with naval "what if" scenarios.

Now the military has war plans for every contingency so I am not advocating we were very concerned with a war with England.
My point is, notice our small ambitions against Canada. In the 20's the United States on the whole only had a bit of an idea of the military monster it was capable of becoming and the military could not count on that.
