In an era of quill pen, parchment paper, and letters delivered by horseback, they had absolutely no concept of a global communication system spreading disinformation in real-time. Disinformation that has resulted in very real panic.At least 24 people have been killed by mob lynchings in India this year, caused by rumors that spread on WhatsApp.

They couldn't even get into the phone of the San Bernardino shooter. The encryption is real. They use 256-bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard). That is literally military-grade encryption. And it's why the government cannot access any of the information on iPhones.
You don't have to take my word for it. And you don't have to take the word of the "corporate media". Just look at the freaking phone itself. Try to access anything on a friend's iPhone without having their passcode or biometric security.
