It Is Time to Expand SCOTUS to 15 Seats

All of the reactions every time there’s a vacancy shows the Court is way too important, more important than the other two branches. Too many one person 5-4 decisions sending the nation into a direction.

If we had a Congress that cares, they’d have one seat added every 4 years starting in 2025 until they got to 15 seats.
Disagree.

If it were to increase to 15, you'd have a lot of 8-7 decisions, leaving us in the same place.

Why stop at 15? Bump it up to 20, put them in a no-holds-barred cage match with folding chairs, and the last ones standing get their way.

Unless the last ones standing are an even number of liberals and conservatives in which case, I haven't figured that out yet.

As the number grows, the odds of a close vote decreases. For example, a 500 seat court. Then a 10,000 seat court. Larger courts are less likely a single seat is that critical.
Look where are today. Everyone knew she was dying. And when it happens everyone goes ballistic.

They would have to add 2 seats per year. If there were an even number of seats, there would be tie decisions.

Maybe. But it’s 4-4 today until probably the next 5 years.

make them 10 year terms and then they are out of there and whoever is president when one leaves picks the replacement....life time terms are ridiculous....

RBG and Democrats blew it in 2009 when they controlled the White House and Senate and she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Huge tactical error.
