And now you emphasize how urgent the destruction of Iran is.Crushing Iran is America's issue that must be dealt with. Iran was a stepping stone in the PNAC agenda of destroying Russia. Now Iran has become much more than a step. They are a conventional weapons superpower, and perhaps the world's second most powerful, behind Russia.
We need to confine the discussion to conventional weapons superiority because America created the situation in which nuclear weapons is not an option. In that respect, America isn't a key player until it catches up.
Popular opinion is that America can't in the foreseeable future. And Trump just simply doesn't understand!
Personally, I disagree with your conclusion that it is urgent to destroy Iran. With its severe and increasing water and electricity shortages and the Iranian government's apparent inability to deal with either beyond telling the people to use less, I think the country may implode before too long.
