Islam is already banned in the US (by Article 6 Section 2 - the Supremacy Clause) It is also banned by anti-Sharia (Islamic) law in Texas & Florida.

The only difference between the "christian" right and Middle Eastern Islamists is the right got to grow up in a country where liberals had already protected them from theocracy. Iran, btw, was looking pretty liberal back before U.S. christians overthrew their government and installed a puppet for oil access.

Yes there are christian churches around the world that are far closer to radical Islamist ideology than churches in the U.S.

However there are countless right wing evangelical churches that preach in favor of religious oppression so you have plenty of company if you seek it out.
