Look sir. Islam in Arab lands treat women abominably. I have no problem seeing that. What I have a problem with is self-righteous assholes who claim their patriarchial religiion is superior to Islam.

Just about anything is superior to Islam, most notably an enlightened form of secular humanism employed in such a way as to be capable of distinguishing between one belief system and the next.

Political correctness is simply mindless conformity.

- Consider women as property
- Refuse to allow them to go to school
- Refuse to allow them to have jobs

- Believe raping women is within their cultural right
- Stone to death women who are raped
- Conduct Honor Killings of their wives and daughters for 'offenses' as slight as going on dates with boys/holding their hands/kissing in public
- Engage in the mutilation of female genitalia

Next thing that will be declared is Islam is perverted and 'confused' simply because their men rape little boys while murdering homosexuals for being gay.

Dhara, granted you have a lot of scriptures, but do you know what they all mean and the context / importance of all of them? For example:

1 PETER: 2:18 Slaves submit to masters, even masters who are harsh. Do you know WHY the slaves are called upon to submit to their masters, even those who are harsh to them? It is not to establish a 'power' hierarchy or to justify or call for 'slaves to know their place. It is much for the same reason we are called upon to 'turn the other cheek' and to forgive so many times, so that we might influence those who have dominance over us and persecute us. It is so that we will be more like Christ and so that our actions, in any position / status, reflects God's love and potentially leads that person to Christ. Christ was a 'slave' - a sacrifice. When he was taken into custody he did not fight them but accepted his situation, using it even to the end to try to spread God's word and save people.

Anyone can list the scriptures in the Bible. What is important, which I am sure you know, is understanding them. (I'm not saying that you don't, just making a pont,)

That part of the Bible goes on to talk about a man loving his wife as Christ loves the Church. Christ gave His life for the Church which was total sacrifice and love. Women need love and a husband must do so with everything he is. If both are doing this a house will be a loving home with happy and blessed people living in it. Both jobs are hard.

If a wife is respecting her husband and he loves her, neither party should be diminished or burdened. Two people doing what God commands.

My daughter turned 12 so I had to marry her off to some tribal leader. My wife went outside without a burka so I had to kill her. This Islam thing is awesome.
