He's a full 18 inches, and there are women that seem to be able to "handle" him.

It would be rude to ignore her purse. At the minimum, you should ask them politely to move their purse because that is the last seat in the room.

I like my personal space too, but, sometimes you have to make a sacrifice. I would just say, I have a bad cold just warning you or would wear a mask! Not like every Drs. office doesn't have them!
