Exactly this. Ever since Trump entered the race in what 2014, he immediately became public enemy number one for the left. The guy went from a B or C level celebrity and a part of American pop-culture to being the next Hitler from the left.
It was claimed he would start WWIII. Yet, the exact opposite was done, he didn't start anything new, and foreign policy was US centered. Our economy was strong, terrorists were quiet, it was a good 4 years, regardless of what your opinion was of Trump.

We can all be honest, he's not a good human being, and not the best businessman. But what we had in his 4 years (outside of covid), was a strong stable country. It's illegal for any President to use the Military or law enforcement to carry out their political agenda.

So, the question is "What will the military do if Trump tries to use them for his political agenda"?

Technically, they should refuse any such orders, but then Trump can fire them and put his loyalists in their place. It would require everyone down the entire chain of command to refuse illegal orders or at least refuse to pass those orders to subordinates.

In the end, the entire military is sworn to uphold the Constitution, but they've read Amendment 14 Sec. 3 so they know that Trump ids disqualified from the Presidency.

Another Constitutional crisis. I'd guess that they'd work with Congress and the DOJ to get Trump impeached again.

BTW - If Trump was ever elected with a Democratic House, they'll impeach him on day one.
