That transcends partisan politics ?

Someone who can appeal to all sides .

I am struggling to think of someone in Britain where there is a huge divide.

I am a moderate but I couldnt name one conservative that I could trust.

Maybe this chap.

Is there a Politician in Great Britain that isnt inbred and stupid? And since you are a lying sack of shit, saying you are a moderate, just goes to prove how inbred it is on the island. Bwaaaahhhaaaaaa...Moderate, oh just too funny...

Moderate in the UK means something way different than it does here. our moderates are their far right extremists.

Not anyone in politics. It would have to be some sort of celebrity however as soon as they step in the ring they have to go through the oppo research grinder. The closest I can think of is Tom Hanks...and I'm halfway serious.

Does a British moderate still want to suckle the teats of 4,000 EU bueracrats in Brussels?
This would tell us alot.

I am not surprised.
This is a typical Tommy Taint thread where he starts one, and punks out on following through.
Maybe this is characteristic of today's British moderate.....:dunno:.

Yep, we live in a gottcha' culture and unfortunately everyone is guilty of playing this game.

I wouldn't trust Mr. Gyimah as far as I can throw him.

There are politicians who would transcend politics, and could appeal to all sides, mostly centrist Democrats. See President Obama, for instance. What happened, of course, is Republicans went to work, and when they were done, every one of his policy proposals, even when he picked up Republican proposals from just a few years earlier, was a far left, socialist abomination. So, appeal they can, and any such appeal will unfailingly be decried by a circular bellowing squad.

He seems a decent sort for a tory.

That may well be the case, with that important qualifier. But really, harnessing the private sector for Third World development? Letting ice-cold predators loose on those who can least fight back? Yeah, that's gonna work, just not to Their advantage.
