Is there a humane way to kill someone?

Most countries in the west have stopped executions. That seems to be setting a rather bad precedent. I mean that our society cannot prevent the suffering of innocent people. Our deaths aren't guaranteed to be clean and humane. Diseases, horrific accidents, crimes...Please, why should murdering criminals expect a clean humane end? I know, the hollow liberal refrain is: "How we treat criminals is a reflection on our society". But I think we can better judge our society by the type of criminals we have, their treatment is secondary.

I am against the death penalty.

The proper punishment for taking a life should be making the murderer work and produce something useful, working 12 hours a day, seven days a week, no holidays, no vacation and no food if there is a slack in working and NO APPEAL.

So we have to pay to train a murdering scum bag so he can acquire a valuable skill?

Sorry, no.

If you don't want to kill a murdering scum bag then lock him in a hole in the ground and throw him a piece of bread once a day.

It would be cheap to pay for a very short period of training a job skill that would cost less than the money spent on execution, preceded by several years of appeals.

Putting them in a hole would not benefit anyone, Making them work, would.

I see no benefit in educating housing and feeding a murderous piece of shit.

I have no problem keeping the death penalty if we raise the standard of proof beyond reasonable doubt and we use professional jures and not some idiot off the street. With those changes there would be no need for years of appeals and the sentence could be carried out in a much more timely fashion.
