Is the US to blame for all of Cuba's ills?

Yes the US is in part, to blame.
See all this white space here to type in is where you get to splain your point. I was not looking really for a short yes or no.

Okay no problem, but I just did that in another thread on this topic.

Are you aware the US has heavily sanctioned and stopped all trade with Cuba for 60 years? Now put the puzzle together. The world’s preeminent economic and military nation doing this to Cuba for 60 FUCKING YEARS, will have a negative impact.

No? Yes?
We have been through this. The USA, companies corporations, have no moral obligation to sell stuff the commie Cuba. Other countries do so be it. When will the commies return the private property they stole from Cubans?

Yes we have and apparently you learned nothing.

As people in Cuba begin to protest their government because of shortages and long lines and a failing economy, etc., government officials in Cuba blame the US for all their ills.

So is the US to blame? On the one hand, Marxists want to destroy the US, but on the other hand, seem to complain when the US does not help them economically or boycotts them economically. Why then do they want to destroy the US economy that they seem to need?

Either that or there is some other hidden way the US is destroying Cuba

Anyone?

And the only response from Joe Biden is that he condemns any violence. There is no support for anyone as he basically ignores what is gong on.

I assume Bernie Sanders is having a panic attack and does blame the US

So what about you?

Of course Bernie does, Cuba does, Democrats do, Blacks do and the homeless do. If ya don't cave into all their requests/demands it's our fault.

The Cuban government is blaming the United States for its problems, in the same way that Republicans blame illegal immigration for the problems in the United States. It’s a lie to deflect blame on the failures of the government to address these issues, on to someone else.

The United States is no more to blame for Cuba’s troubles than illegal immigration is to blame for high unemployment and low wages for American workers.

It’s always easier to blame someone else you have no control over, then it is to take responsibility for your own failures. Remember that the next time you vote Republican

Is the US to blame for all of Cuba's ills?

Nope, the rest of the world ignores the US sanctions. The Cuban govt. uses the sanctions as an excuse to prop up the regime. Quickest and only peaceful way to end the regime is to end the sanctions.

All? No. Do we still have justifications for sanctions? Absolutely not. Cuba is an excellent example to show why sanctions do not work and only harm the people.

Did sanctions on Cuba for 60 years change anything? No.

Would the people be better off today if we had opened relations with Cuba? I will say, yes.
JFK and his peculiar A.G. brother (and the CIA) ruined relations with Cuba with their exploding cigar diplomacy and criminal attempts to support an invasion army but the media loved Camelot and JFK could do no wrong.

We screwed Cuba when we let Castro take over. We should have forced more Democratic reforms and militarily stopped the communists before Russia was able to enter

Depends on how it is viewed. We did nothing as castro murdered a country. About that same time, we sent tens of thousands to die on the other side of the world.

Yep, and we tied their hands so they couldn't win.

The Domino "theory" wasn't a theory, it was fact.

I would have been in favor of it if we were there to win. But all we did was send troop after troop and prevented them from winning. It would have been far better to stay out of it than fight it the way we did.

Cuba should have been a no brainer. But Kennedy fucked that up too. Then he murdered all those Cubans on the bay of pigs by letting them go thinking they had air support, then waffling and not providing it.

I was against Trump sending the troops into Syria to eliminate ISIS, but at least he went in and won it then stopped. A lesson politicians haven't been able to learn since WWII

Yep, it is strange when one doesn't take responsibility for their own failures.

Biden blames migrant crisis on Trump & WEATHER & jokes it's because he's 'nice'

And that was 60 years ago. That doesn't excuse the years since then.

Biden's call for "non violence" by the people rallying against Tyranny in Cuba is a disgrace.

The Communists don't have free elections, Dragging the communists forcefully out of their palaces in Havana and hanging them is the only way they have to enact change.

I just hope that Sleepy Joe doesn't admit any Communists to the US who try to escape the island after they are disposed of.

VP Harris encouraged domestic terrorists Antifa and BLM to continue holding violent protests during which they loot, bun, destroy, assault, and murder...AFTER our last election...but Joe is calling for victims of decades of oppressive Communism to restrain from engaging in violence?!

Yes the US is in part, to blame.
Why? The US trade embargo only affects US trade with Cuba. The rest of the world is free to trade with Cuba and does. The Problem is that Cuba doesn’t produce much of value on the international market.
Again with that silliness. Do you ever learn? Maybe this will help.

The US government is waging wars around the world, circling the planet with military bases, ramping up nuclear standoffs and working to destroy any nation which disobeys it, so naturally the news media are urgently warning us about the horrible tyrannical government of Cuba.

Yes the US has been deliberately strangling Cuba with the goal of fomenting unrest. Yes it has been attempting regime change ops in Cuba up to and including invasions and hundreds of assassination attempts. No you may not blame the US for unrest in Cuba, you goddamn tankie freak.

If you try to connect unrest in Cuba with the USA's extensive history of interventionism there, people yell at you for denying the Cuban people's "agency". Agency, agency, agency, agency. They'll factor in all sorts of agency except the Central Intelligence kind.

When US blockades on Cuba cause suffering, the suffering proves that socialism doesn't work. When US-backed blockades on Yemen cause suffering, it's an unfortunate and tragic accident of nature.

"Hey, lets have an authoritative Communist government aligned with the Soviet Union, what could possible go wrong?"

Ridiculous!!! Cuba has a freedom loving government.

Socialism works? Where?
